Season is winding down and Cleveland's 1st round position hasn't been decided yet.

These are their picks right now. What positions do you go with for these picks? Who would you want to take?

1: Berry or McClain. Both are very intelligent and would be starters.
2: Depends on 1st round pick. Either DB/LB
3: Defense
3: RB/Defense
4: DB/QB (need to pick up a QB in the draft but not wasting 1-3 round picks. Anderson will be gone imo along with Ratliff if Mangini is canned).

Then I think Cleveland needs to package the later round picks together and move up into the 2nd-3rd round. It's very possible with the amount of selections they have especially the 5th round.

We need to upgrade at just about every position. I would rather address QB and O-line through free agency.

Safety, linebacker, corner, and running back are 4 positions I would like to see addressed in the draft. I can't handle another season of McDonald, Poteat, Adams, and Elam as important pieces of the secondary.

If Mike Furrey is still on the field as a safety next year something is seriously wrong.

I don't think RB is a glaring need right now. They have 3 good young RB's. Get some help on right side of O line and put together any kind of passing game and let's see what these guys can do. I think you need to add a good veteran WR in free agency. Otherwise go defense. There are 2 really good safeties and if that D lineman from Nebraska is there they should consider seriously consider him. The other question is, what kind of defense will they be running? They may go back to a 4-3 with Holmgren there.

Don't draft a running back...that'd just be retarded.

This team is in such greater need than a running back.

Cleveland will draft a RB they need competition there. I am not hanging my hat on a rookie who has been on the IR, a guy with one solid game against the team picking behind us in the draft, and undrafted player from Canada. Sorry, just isn't going to happen.

Now the RB selection won't happen until the 4th pick for them imo, the first 3 will be defense.

Well, if that's the case, get ready for more of the same. Heck, they might as well get some WR's in the 2nd round. That seems to be the norm.

They'll likely have a top 5 pick, so I'll put my top 5 wants, should be guaranteed to get one of them.

1. Suh
2. Berry
3. Haden
4. Gerald McCoy
5. McClain

Thank you. Saying the Browns have 3 good running backs is the most ridiculous thing I've ever read.

I mean for god sakes Davis is a rookie who averaged 1.7 yards on 9 carries this year before getting placed on the IR.

It's definitely a position that needs to be upgraded.

Wait on a RB until you are close to making the playoff which will not be next year. A rookie RB can step in and produce right away.

I'd take any of the five list above, close to that order. (2kool's list)

I'd pass on a QB taken high right now, if you find a project late (Pike, Hiler type) then take a chance.

Everything I've read so far is that the Rams need a QB going into next season. They will have the #1 pick so if they take a QB then that will push guys like Suh and Berry down one. You never know what Detroit will do, I am thinking Cleveland will land Berry or McClain.

RB is a need. Once again do you honestly trust any of the RB's carrying a #1 RB load next season. We all would like to think that but Come On Man.

So you don't think any of the RB's are good? I didn't say great, but good. Who would you take then? None of the RB's in the draft are worthy of a top 5 pick in my opinion. Also, even if you had Adrian Peterson back there, with no blocking on the right side and no pass game, how good would he do?

No its not but we are looking at it from the opposite end. You never want to hang success on a rookie who has been on the IR all year long that was picked in the late rounds of the NFL draft. I like Davis but he hasn't shown me anything that says don't take a solid RB with the 4th pick.

No one is saying RB isn't a need...they're simply saying there are more dire needs than that position. You have to build your core parts (OL, defense) then worry about your running back.

Cleveland would be devoting a top 5 pick to a RT or RG if they went OL. Not sure they'll be willing to do that

No. Which is exactly the point. He could be legit, or he could play like the 6th rounder he was drafted as and be out of the league in 2 years.

There are a lot of good running backs available. If you can pick one up in the 2nd-3rd round (depending on where our picks end up, if we trade up, etc.) you should get one.

Would any of the running backs currently on the Browns roster start for another team? I mean, Jennings wasn't even in the league before the Browns picked him up, so that's an obvious no. Davis is a 6th-round unproven rookie. Another no. And Harrison had one of the worst rushing averages in the league prior to last week. He would actually see the field on other teams, but I don't see him starting anywhere else either.

I agree with this. Suh will be gone. Berry or Okung though would be fine at the 4 slot. If those 3 are gone then trade down to the 8-10 slot and go for Haden.

Then why aren't any of you saying the same thing about the wide receiver position?

I mean do you really want to hang your season on the hands of Massaquoi (2nd year, 30 receptions), Robiskie (2nd year, 5 receptions), Mike Furrey (part time safety--lol--, 23 receptions), Josh cribbs (20 receptions), and Chansi Stuckey (awful, 18 receptions)?

No I don't. See my last post.

Harrison definitely has a niche. He's a good change of pace, 3rd down style back. I DON'T think he's a good every down back. Jennings shouldn't even be in the NFL honestly. And who knows about Davis. He could be some day. At this point there's no way to say he is though.

And there are 7 rounds in the NFL draft. I never said to take a running back with the 1st pick. That would be a terrible move.

And Adrian Peterson would do an awful lot more to open up a passing game, than anyone the Browns have so it's hard to say.

They need a QB. Not saying the should burn another #1. Until they get a legit one, they won't be good.

Suh is the priority, first and foremost.

If we can't get Suh, we go for Gerald McCoy, Eric Berry, Rolando McClain, Joe Haden, Derrick Morgan, Jerry Hughes, in that order.

We do NOT go offense in the first round, I don't care how good Spiller looks.

This defense gives up 30+ points to some of the worst teams in the league. Yes, we have injury problems, and yes, we're very young, but we also are lacking a LOT of talent on both sides of the ball, but defensively especially.

2nd round, I would prefer to go defense as well. This draft is LOADED with defensive talent, and there are a lot of kids coming out this year because of the CBA potentially not getting done.

Once again, I'm not arguing how good or bad our running backs are..just simply that shouldn't be their priority this off season.

And I disagree about the RBs in this yaer's draft...I think this is the worst running backs draft I've seen in a while.

You cannot draft ever position, like we have stated Cleveland has needs at every position. I am going to wait and see if our SECOND ROUND selections at WR play good next year with constant playing time. On the other hand I will not wait on a 6th round pick coming off the IR or an undrafted guy picked up by the Browns. Plus, I think these WR's are good (MMass/Robo) but Cleveland obviously is lacking a quality QB right now. I am not saying Quinn won't turn into one but he isn't playing like one.

How is it their priority if they are picking one up with their 4th or 5th pick??? Its not like they are going to take one in the 1st or 2nd round. Guys like Gerhart or Blount are being projected as 3+ round selections. Blount was higher until the punch.

Unless the Browns blow it, Suh won't be an option. We are looking at 3rd+ pick in the 1st round. He shouldn't even be mentioned with Cleveland right now unless we lose the next two games and teams behind us win.
