Depending on Joe Thomas the next picks will be offense line, line back and defense players. wide receiver will be filled in with free agent
It'd be nice, but Barkley won't be there at 4

Okay flip it
Barkley at one Allen four
Assuming Dorsey doesn't swing any more deals, a list of the guys I'd like to see them target in FA include:
Trumaine Johnson (CB-Rams)
Dontari Poe (DT-Falcons) or Star Lotulelei (DT-Panthers) or, if he gets released, Suh (DT-Dolphins). Prefer one of the first two to replace Shelton.
Adrian Clayborn (DE-Falcons)- rotate with Ogbah
Terrelle Pryor (WR-Redskins)-fight it out with Coleman for the #3. Only if he comes VERY cheap.
Any three of these guys and I'd be happy.

Okay by me
Why does anyone want Josh Allen when you just essentially traded him to the Packers?

I'll be very surprised if it's Allen. If they were looking to make a seamless transition from a 6'1" mobile bridge QB to their next QB, Mayfield would seem to fit the mold. If they would've signed McCarron instead, my thought would be that it would be either Rosen or Darnold.

FIFY, because that is what your questions should be. He sucks. The fact he his completion percentage was 56% in the fucking Mountain West is enough of a red flag to pass on him. I would easily pick Lamar Jackson before Allen. People keep comparing Allen to Wentz. The only thing they have in commons is they are both tall and both played for small schools. I have actually had dumbass friends tell me because Wentz became successful (coming from a small school) it will also translate to Josh Allen.

I am not big Mayfield guy at all, but I hope you're right about Allen. I couldn't stomach picking him anywhere in the draft (including Barkley in the first round). I would take Mayfield 10000000000000x before Allen and I have Mayfield as my third guy after a big drop off from darnold/rosen.
Had listened to NFL on Sirius about a week ago and they were talking about Allen. There are two schools of thought regarding him...a) his accuracy issues can be fixed or b) they can't. I know this sounds simplistic but I tend to agree with those who think they can't be fixed. We saw that in Kizer.
It's one thing to have completion % issues, where a lot of this can be attributed to drops where it's completely different with accuracy issues.
I didn't see Allen throw but heard he can throw it a country mile but his passes are "all over the place." One moment you're going "wow, look at how far & accurate that pass was" and the next you're saying "wtf was that? Receiver wasn't even in the same time zone."
I'll pass on that much of a project. He has all of the physical tools, which we've seen before in DA & Weeden, and they both sucked too. Just weren't accurate.

It just surprises me. Allen is what we had this year. A big guy with a big arm that can’t get it to people. I’m not sure why we want to try it again.

I told you. People legitimately think the Carson Wentz small school factor will play into Allen being a great NFL QB. Oh, and he played in cold weather!
Darnold, Rosen or Allen--yes...Mayfield? hell no

I'm the exact opposite. My order is Mayfield, Darnold, Lamar Jackson, Rosen, Allen.
Count me in on the Mayfield train as well. Like Rosen assuming his medicals check out, like Darnold too but know that Darnold is a project.
I'd probably go:
1. Mayfield
2. Darnold
3. Rosen
BIGGGGGGGG GAP
4Jackson
5. Mike White
End of draftable QBs.

Which at this point would be ok, since we have Tyrod.

I had Derek Anderson flashbacks, rocket arm with no destination.

I know I'm preaching to the choir but besides height, what are Mayfield's flaws? Super competitive? Accurate as Hell? Driven/hard worker? Yes, he had the incident with the cops when he was pretty young and supposedly has what some would refer to as "attitude issues." I'd rather have a QB who was a bit of a dick for the right reasons (chip on his shoulder, competitive/driven) versus the wrong ones (like Rosen).
Count me in the minority, but I loved the crotch grab/chop.

Ditto
92.3 had Greg Cosell on about a week ago and he was comparing/contrasting the QB's and he said the biggest "knock" on Mayfield is the height...and if that's all you can really hold against him, it's a pretty flimsy argument.
There's been a lot said about QB's under 'X height" not being successful in the NFL. Part of the reason for this is because there is a small(er) sample size because many GM's have a prototype built in there head so these shorter guys never get a chance. It's not like Mayfield's Doug Flutie short.
Keep in mind, this is coming from an advocate (me) of the big, strong arm QB type.
As long as the QB is accurate and can move the pocket with his feet/find throwing lanes, I'm fine with him.
Mayfield has, unfortunately, gotten lumped in with JFF because of his height, his mobility and his previous attitude. Mayfield's a bit different in that he's a worker, where JFF thought it would just come naturally and he could slide by. Mayfield has had attitude issues but he's not an addict, like JFF. To me, there's a lot to like about him and if they can have him sit & learn the same system behind Taylor, I think he could do well.
Browns supposedly in heavy negotiations with a CB (thinking Bashaud Breeland-Washington, but not positive.) The secondary is going to look fairly solid. Randall will be moving back to his natural position, FS. They can put McCourty at the #2, move Calhoun down to the slot and let Peppers play where he's SUPPOSED to play (i.e in this zip code).
LA also saying that JT will not be retiring this season. Better start hitting the buffets, Joe, because I'm hearing you're very small.

Did Cosell say who he thinks is the best QB in the draft?

He said the "safe bet" was Darnold but he loves Mayfield. He said Darnold's issues were "below the waist" which are fixable while Allen's were 'above the waist" which generally aren't fixable. I can't recall specifically what he said on Rosen but I don't think he was bowled over by him.

Wasn't advice. Was just an observation. Dude is pretty skinny. His appearance was one of the things that made me believe he might not be coming back. I'm sure he knows what to do.
