Do you have any reoccurring dreams? What about nightmares?

I have reoccurring dreams where I'm going somewhere but due to multiple things happening, I can't ever get to wherever it is that I'm going.

I also have occasional nightmares. Sometimes when having one I become aware of what's going on and can sort of "direct" myself out of whatever scary thing is happening. Nonetheless, upon waking, I find some sort of entertainment value in it.

My dreams and others' dreams have always fascinated me. There are so many theories about dreams that I don't really know what to think about them. But good or bad, I like them.

What's everyone else's thoughts on this?

That recurring dream is along the lines with the sort I tend to have. It can be the sort where I have something to do or somewhere to go, but as you said, shit keeps happening so that I never get there. I also have ones where I'm at a party, bar or venue with friends and they all kind of gradually disappear and I spend an eternity before waking where I'm just wandering around looking for them.

Honestly, I consider them fun; at least they add a bit of variety to spice things up!

Same with the dream that everything keeps you from doing the task at hand/destination

Watching a huge jetliner crash from the ground in summer evening with black thunderstorm clouds filling the sky. The plane is so huge that the whole thing appears to be in slow motion.  The plane has always just taken off prior.

I had a dream that I got in a car wreck and was paralyzed. A very vivid riding ambulance not be able to move my hands and feet and wheeled into the emergency room. Suddenly an older plump black nurse comes out of nowhere. And say  honey I can’t let you suffer and starts sufficatme with a pillow.

Then I wake up at to find the cat and he decide d to lay down on my face

Recurring dreams:

- I’m still in college and trying to finish up to get my degree……I can’t find my schedule or get to where I need to be

- I’m still teaching and can’t find the room I’m supposed to be at…..and I keep wondering when the school year will finally be over

One of my reoccurring nightmares is me holding a spider and it's biting me. I'm talking a spider the size of a man's hand.

Ugh!

It’s never had that effect. But it is a feeling of being completely helpless and watching it happen slowly so I’m completely aware of the fate of all on board.

I used to have it 4-5 times per year. Haven’t had it in several years, so maybe something in my life changed and it was removed.

I used to have a reoccurring dream of falling. For example tripping down bleachers and it becoming an endless tumble. I haven’t had that in years though

Don't remember having one in a while, but after seeing this thread yesterday I had a dream last night where my teeth were falling out. That's definitely the most common recurring dream I have. Next is probably I am back in school and an assignment is due and I haven't even started it.

Ah, the good ol' anxiety dreams. Had my share of them, which kind of surprises me because I tend to be pretty chill, but apparently all that inner turmoil breaks free when I'm asleep, I guess.

For me, the high school ones usually were either (1) I don't know my locker combination or (2) I don't have the piece of paper telling me what class I have each period and I have to get to class, even though I don't know where to go. Sometimes a combo, where that paper is probably in my locker, but I don't remember the combination.

For college, it usually is along the lines of it's midway or beyond that point during a quarter and I just realized that I have to ace an exam in a class that I never actually attended.

Don't know that I've really had any work-related ones. Maybe one or two, but no recurring ones. Those now are usually the ones like I mentioned, where I'm doing something social with friends and lose track of everyone and spend most of the dream running around trying to find them.
