Show me where anyone was “forced “ to do anything. Voluntary. Period.

You're re-defining the term "low information voter".

Tips are income.  Period.  They are required to be reported for tax purposes.  REQUIRED.  There's nothing voluntary about it, not now or ever.  This other "voluntary" tool is simply to help people track and create a paper trail.  Voluntary or not, the sole purpose of the program, like most every other IRS program, is to reduce tax evasion.

Tips, as with any cash business, are notoriously under-reported.  Also known as tax evasion, which is and has been illegal.

The IRS can and has audited service workers on tips in cases of clear and egregious under reporting.  Most people understood the floated $600 bank transaction threshold was intended to flag people under reporting cash income.  You reported $40k in income last year and your bank reported you had $80k in deposits....guess who's getting audited?

They don't need 80k new IRS agents to audit corporations and rich people.  They already do that.

It's much easier to cheat by under reporting cash income.  100% of my income is reported to the government by my employer, banks and brokerage.  The only way I could "cheat" would be claiming charitable deductions that I don't actually have.  But guess what?  You need receipts for charity contributions over $250 I think it is.

Like I said, most everyone else knows people with tips and other cash income grossly under report their income and are actual tax cheats.

Once again, your progression on this is laughable.  You went from "nuh-uh they aren't going after low income tax cheats" to "meh, everyone does it".

It would be curious to know where your politics would land if you actually understood how things work.

Again it was a voluntary program that you could opt into if you wanted to easily use the technology and pos systems to report your taxes. IT HAD NO EFFECT OR HAD ANYTHING TO DO WIRH CASH TIPS AT ALL RIGHT? . I posted right from the irs.gov website. Don’t like the law or program?  Don’t use it. It was voluntary?? How is this that hard? If you want to underreport your cash tips you still can!!

https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-introduces-new-service-industry-tip-reporting-program

The word cash isn’t even used. First paragraph. VOLUNTARY.

Ringo probably wasn’t even the best drummer IN the Beatles.  Paul is technically stronger.

I only know one person who was effected by this and she is a barber and likes to be paid by Venmo and this was effected because it is electronic and not cash so she had to limit weekly how much she accepted from Venmo but I’m not sure if they ended that or that is still the case.

Source: Rumored, but probably not true John Lennon quote.

REPORTER: John, is Ringo the best drummer in the world?

LENNON: Ringo’s not even the best drummer in the Beatles.

There is actually a lot of validity to it.  Paul (often) and John (occasionally) would re-record drums for a particularly complex song.

But everyone loved Ringo.  He helped make the Beatles who they were.

I’ll admit I know almost nothing about the Beatles except lenon got killed. Also I probably could only name 4-5 songs but I know they have probably 50-100 good songs

I never appreciated the Beatles like other people do. I've always been a Rolling Stones person.

Man, you need to change that. Serious blind spot for you. Even if you don't like them, they influenced music tremendously.

Led Zeppelin for me over both.

LZ has always been a bit of a conundrum for me, because, if asked which of their songs is my favorite I couldn't answer. The best I could do is maybe a top five.

The Rolling Stones is even worse because I'd have a hard time wrangling up five songs. I'd probably have to go top 10.

Depends on mood. But if I had to pick, I'd say favorite Zep song is The Rover, probably then followed by Dazed and Confused. Favorite album is Physical Graffiti for me

Stones is easy. My favorite of theirs is Can't you hear me knocking.

I went nuts on Zeppelin during my teenage years.  Tastes change I guess.  I respect their music mightily, but don’t remember the last time I listened to them. (54 years old now)
