I’m simply saying there surely is something in your life to discuss that is not the boogey man of trans women in sports that will never affect your life and was really just brought up for election purposes. Surely it has been beat to death on here. I never said those things were NEVER discussed. He asked for possible things to talk about that do affect his life. Those are the ones that came up in my head. It’s not that deep

Don’t really have anything else to complain about, but I couldn’t care less if Tik Tok goes away forever. Not sure why it’s so hard for a non-Chinese gov’t entity to design the same thing. Is it that bc they allow so much information to be taken that their algorithm is that much better? 

I'm against banning tiktok and I don't even use it. I just don't like the idea of our govt picking and choosing which apps sell our data. I also don't love the idea of our govt limiting what we can read, see or basically just communicate with. People have really memory-holed the Twitter Files, haven't they?

I'm for banning an app that is owned by the Chinese government and can be an easy way to gain information and data on the American people. That's why it passed in a bipartisan fashion and was upheld by the Supreme Court.

It's not a free speech argument. 

If tiktok wants to survive, they need to change ownership to a non Chinese entity. Plain and simple.

I'm struggling a bit to understand how selling it solves the underlying problem.  If the coders remain Chinese, and based in China...

Even if all the code and IP is transferred to the US, how confident are you all the backdoors that inevitably exist will be closed, or that the Chinese won't be able to regularly hack it?

Good point and that may be why it is taking so long to get a new owner as they may not want to give that totally up.

Biden is the worst president of my lifetime. He has handlers - no doubt. But he knows what he's doing here. He is a failed, failed leader.

OK, the swearing in of the POTUS is important, I guess (certainly questionable after the last 3-4 people to occupy the office).

But the rest of this inauguration ceremony is just useless and wasteful pomp.

We should not have the equivalent of a coronation for a public servant.

I think people like it. It's not really about the person being sworn in, but for the feeling of patriotism of another peaceful transfer of power.
