The sad thing is it’s not really in your area best interest to vote a guy like Mitch McConnell out. He holds so much power that he gets things a ton of personal pet projects added into bills. Robert Byrd of West Virginia was a perfect example he was a Senator for 51 years he used to get so many things for West Virginia there was no reason to get rid of him

It was such a benign question, too. To hell with that guy. I guess he either:

- thought the question was beneath his dignity as a public servant or

- literally couldn't answer because his brain wasn't communicating with his mouth

Another congressman "freezing".  Funny thing is no one else on the floor seems to be concerned.

At first I thought it was one of those times no one was there….then it switched to the floor and I was like “well, I guess they are used to this kind of stuff”

No truer statement has been made, his time on earth almost expired.

And apparently yesterday (just saw it on Twitter last night, so guessing on when), some D congressman (I think, wasn't a name I'm familiar with) pulled a McConnell. Was speaking and then went full vegetable for a minute or so.  Gonna be great when some of these fucks just start dropping dead on live TV!

Gawd!

He didn't just pull a MM... his whole demeanor and voice changed! That was awfully amazing to watch. Multiple personalities, possession or mini stroke. I have no idea which.

Liberal judges are trying to tell Trump what things he can or can’t do with government websites (amongst other dumb shit). Good luck with that.

Yeah, looks like I did that thing where I clicked "view most recent post", saw posts talking about the Mitchster and didn't realize there was another page of posts.

Got too excited at the prospect of dunking on some ancient's brain melting to realize someone already had gotten to it!

It is not naive to have differing viewpoints. Differing views is not only useful but necessary.

Your pretensions to elite intellectualism does not favor a single thing. I'm going to start a count on how many times you fling that about. So far it's been about 4 times in the past week. Let's see how many times you can do it come March 1st 🤣

Your view that the US should only focus on itself is just wrong.

Democrats and Republicans have obvious disagreements, but generally favor the US being engaged in the world.

Ever since the end of World War II, it has been the responsibility of the US to protect the free economy and stop/slow communism and oppression around the world. This was an accepted liberal and conservative point of view. The disagreements were on the margins on how to do that.

But, your view that we shouldn't be involved at all is so flat out wrong that any reading of world history will show. If we withdraw from the world as you want, then China, Russia and others will fill that void.

I strong urge you to read up on the Cold War and post World War II economy and role the US has in the world.

1.) I think that we need to focus more on the US, yes. The people, the infrastructure, etc needs that to happen right now.

2.) A general idea of something is not the same as a Constitutional responsibility. We are not in any way responsible for everybody else in the world at our own detriment.

Period.

3.) I realize that the establishment types are kicking and screaming about this. Many people are slow to change and many fear it - especially if it removes people from holding seats of power and manipulation.

4.) The US can actually do two things at once. It can still be involved in the world while at the same time focus more on it's people and it's own state of being.

And from now on, please try not to attribute words or phrases to me that I never once said.

Imagine believing that the US doesn't need to keep funding wars of other countries, manufacturing wars, doesn't need to take over Gaza, Greenland or the Panama Canal as an uneducated idea because the power brokers have always done it. And "dammit, that should NEVERRRRR change!

And while we are at it, fuck our infrastructure! Fuck our homeless!

Fuck all the people because we need to stick what has been allowed to be done since 1945!"

That's what people with pretensions to elite intellectualism say.
