USWNT are the favorites to repeat. But France is right there.

13-0 win today vs an awful Thailand team.

Speaking of...thoughts on 13-0 (and more so the celebrations)??

In group play, score as many goals as you can. That said, unless you’ve never scored a World Cup goal before, after 6 or 7 to 0 vs garbage, maybe settle down. If you beat a real team by that much celebrate every goal, but cmon.

Yeah, people tune will change when Thailand loses the next match 9-0 or something. Game 1 of group play is open season.

But you just can’t celebrate that way and expect to not catch shit for it.

fuck that--you don't like it, stop them...it's the World Cup, not a fucking 'friendly'

IDGAF about running up the score or even the excessive celebration while doing it.  As stated, if you don't like it then stop it.  It also helps in group play for goal differential.  My issue is if you're going to do it, don't be shocked or butt hurt that people don't like it.  It's no different than GSW running up the score and being a bunch of front running fucks.  Everyone hates them for it. The people like Wambach trying to turn this into a women discrimination narrative are the worst.  Don't bitch about how you wanted to be treated like male athletes,  but then cry when you actually are treated like them lmao.

The reaction to this kinda reminds me of the reaction to Serena Williams getting bashed for acting like a cry baby bitch during the US Open final.

Yes she was, but definitely not apples and oranges.  We see women athletes fighting to be treated like men,  but get butt hurt when they actually are treated like men.  You can't just avoid the bad that comes with the good.

I think our two arguments are apples and oranges, but I see where you're coming from.

Great game going on between the USA and Spain  in the Round of 16. 1-1 approaching halftime.

I don't watch soccer, but man, Spain seems to be really aggressive with a lot of hits and slides.

If the U.S. falls here, this would be an all time choke job by them given all the shit they were talking last week.

Haven't watched much of the world Cup, but this VAR is interesting. I've never seen them use replay this in depth before, like for this penalty kick (I think it's a weak call).

Yeah, just from an outsider's perspective, I didn't think that warranted a penalty kick. But, whatever, I'm sure the US will take it.

Guys that’s a foul 100/100 times. Completely whiffed ball, hit shin with studs up. If it wasn’t a PK (IE foul outside box) it would’ve warranted a card as well. But referees have been given leeway on “double punishment” regarding those situations.

Fair. If it was a foul and it was called, great.

Good goal to start out. Lot of diving out of the USWT so far though.

That was a hand ball on Reilly. Shocked it wasn’t called or reviewed. But great win, and into England.

Awesome game. USWNT gets the win, in a very 50/50 game, and advance to the World Cup Final.

Alyssa Naeher's save on the England penalty kick was outstanding. Cristen Press had a big game filling in for the injured Rapinoe.

That was an electric game. From Alex Morgan flexing on the fans with the tea sip celebration to the Naeher save.
