He hit 2 HR in 49 games with Cleveland last year
Which is the perfect storm ... his market value is down, but he has a huge upside. Go get him, Mike!

He did bat .297, though.

Indeed.
ESPN has posted an article that projects Visquel elected in 2025. Currently at 48% reported, expected near 50%, should gain votes slowly over the next few years.

Yep, O is trending in the right direction from the start. Might take a down year to get him over the hump, but I expect it will happen.
Omar got 52.6%, and in only his 3rd year. He is going to get in, which is a shock to me — but deserved imo. I’ll predict when the steroid guys are off the ballot (Bonds/Clemens/Sosa) and Schilling (may get in next year) he gets it. I think that would put it at 2023? Don’t see 10 guys being ahead of him at that point, especially with weak additions next year.
Omar deserves to be in the HOF.
Braves get former Cardinals OF Marcell Ozuna.
Twins sign 3B Josh Donaldson in 4 year deal.
Tribe concentrates effort on Tribe Fest 2020!.... party on dudes!

2023 is a weak year for first year guys, Cheater Beltran will not get much love, Ortiz will be second year on ballot, also suspect.
2022 is the last year year for the big four cheaters: Bonds, Schilling, Clemens, Sosa
Could be perfect storm for the greatest defensive shortstop ever.
Schilling a PED user? I thought he called players out for that?
I dont think Schilling is. He wouldnt be at 70% when others are so far down, imo. But maybe I missed something.
I was incorrect, he was never found to have used. I think I bundled him in since he was at the congress testimony with Palmerio & McGwire.
He is just not well liked.

I think a lot of writers do as well, otherwise he probably would've been in already.

For me I remember young Curt Schilling throwing 93-94 then I see Diamondbacks Schilling in his mid 30’s throwing 99. So many were cheating then and things like that push me hard to a cheater.
Clemens was great for about 8 years and was falling off and losing velocity....then goes to Toronto and wins 2 Cy’s and kept on going. I’m not convinced Roger was going to ever get back close to the first 8 years....Bonds along with Griffey were the best in the game. Bonds without roids was going on to huge career numbers. Maybe only 550-600 HR but doubles, hits, SB all higher. Just my thoughts
Paul Dolan won some kind of lifetime achievement award from the Cleveland community last night and dropped some kind of non-funny "I'm going to enjoy our shortstop while he's still here but you may not" or something to that effect line in his acceptance speech. It might have gotten some laughs from the bigwigs at this event but Average Joe fan will probably be pissed when they hear it.
Looking at what Cincinnati has done this offseason is down right embarrassing. Technically, a "smaller market" while Daddy NoBucks sits on his hands and jokes about "enjoying" Lindor while he's here. I'm not as much a proponent of an MLB salary cap as I am a salary floor. The fact that Mr Penny Pincher won't get this payroll to $100 million is a joke.

Yeah, Reds just inked Castellanos.
