Theegala….that was hard to watch. Xander birdied so likely would’ve been extra holes but a double on 18 with a 1 shot lead…tough
Cantlay going to LIV after today lol
The Open is delivering. Big names amuck on this board. Rory is going to win though…. IF he can control the feelz on the back 9 tomorrow
Tomorrow should be fun.
Hovland starting to fold. Rory looking solid. The Cam's playing well and putting pressure on Rory.
If Rory doesn't hold on I hope Cam Smith wins it.
Cam Smith with 4 birds in a row to tie Rory at -18. Wow.
5 straight and the lead now.
Hell of a tournament for Cam Smith.
If only Rory could've made a putt.
30 on the back 9 on Sunday. Jack Nicklaus shit.

Perfectly stated.
Cam was awesome. Putting machine.
Rory as stated early this week was a lag-machine and he proved great at it….but Cam just made so many putts. Cam only 1 3 putt all weeks. He earned it.
Like every tournament….. Whoever is leading in putting usually wins. Been like that forever. Everyone knows how important it is … but I’ll still go hit balls for an hour on the range and maybe like 10 putts on the practice green lol. I wonder if I’d get better if I spent an hour on the putting green and only 10 swings on the range
I lol’d

Nope. You’d just learn the 10 different putts at your spot.
You’d have to do that, but also go to different greens and use tees to help the mechanics especially on shorter putts.
My golf game growing up was on a course you could hardly spin the ball and some hilly areas on the greens…of the 4 majors I think I’d score my best at St Andrews….especially if compared to those on same golfing level as me.

I think you’re underestimating how terrible I am at putting though

Lol fair. My father-in law is about that same player as me. He is a 14 and I am an 11. When we play at his club, he usually beats me and it's because he hits 5-7 less putts -- he just knows the greens and speeds so well. When we play somewhere else, I beat him and our putting is usually even or I am slightly better.

I have a rare ability to make 10 footers easier than 2 footers I’m not sure what it is… I push every single short putt.

Hit them harder. Thats the only advice I can give. Its so mental, but having the proper speed shouldnt result in the ball dying in the cup or even drifting past 3-4 inches. It should end 1-2 feet past, pending distance away. Thats the only way for the putt to hold the line. Otherwise you are just hoping and the line to read will be obsolete because you didnt hit it with enough pass for it to matter. The "I cant believe it broke left at the end"...well, it didnt, you just didnt hit it hard enough so the slight little right to left is drastic cbecasue the putt is dying.

Line up putter and minimize backswing and putt. Don’t think.
People watch me putt for the first time and are like WTF? I get behind it, read break…place club in position behind hall, square feet, get a quick right feel grip and putt as I give a final look at hole at putt….and it’s almost a rhythm like a free throw. Also the king of the lag and the 2 putt but I rarely ever 3 putt and I’m really good on those 3-6 foot putts that make it break your score. From the time I square my feet until putter strikes ball…I’d guess 2 seconds.
I watch old Nicklaus clips and many guys today and If I stand over a putt and keep staring at the hole…..I either hammer it by or leave crazy short…like in that stare time I lose all my feel
