Looks like Sprint is going to have a monster of a phone coming this summer......
In a short and sweet event earlier today, Sprint changed the landscape for Android devices by announcing the HTC EVO 4G, a handset whose specs make it the top handset, cross-platform, on the market today. The EVO 4G one-ups almost every other handset in the Android platform with a feature set that includes a 4.3 inch touchscreen, 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, dual 3G/4G WiMAX connectivity, forward-facing 1.3 megapixel camera, rear-facing 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus and 720p HD video recording, HDMI out, built-in mobile hotspot functionality, custom web browser with Flash support, YouTube HQ support, and Android 2.1 with Sense UI. Starting this summer, the HTC EVO 4G will be available from all Sprint channels and third party retailers including Walmart, Best Buy, and Radio Shack. Tune in tomorrow as we will have a more in-depth hands on for you guys. Make sure to hit the photos in our gallery in the meantime!

I'd probably have Sprint if it were GSM.

yeah, not being GSM is a small downfall but I have no problem b/c I don't care about it really... I get a new phone once a year and that's good for me(sometimes more than once a year). I've never used a sim card and now all my contacts/data is saved with my google account, so it's just as easy and I save a hard copy to my pc.

Actually, I feel bad for people who DON'T have Sprint.
As imex said, the deals are amazing. New phone every year at the two year upgrade price and the plans are unmatched by competitors.
I'll definitely be checking this phone out in December when I'm up for my upgrade.

I've been all over the world and get coverage everywhere with AT&T. You're telling me your friends can't get it in America? lolYtowngirlinfla wrote: sorry but sprint rocks. i pay $30 a month for 500 mins, unlimited txt and data. nights starting at 7 and unlimited any mobile anytime. ive never had one problem with service. unlike my friends wbho use at&t.
I must not frequent these places.

AT$T is hot garbage and the only reason I haven't bought an iPhone.. Will never do business with AT$T again.
The normal coverage is fine, but their 3G coverage is TERRIBLE.

I've never tried to use 3G in Sandusky so I can't confirm or deny the claim. But it works fine in Canton, Cleveland, Massillon, Akron, Mooresville, Lincolnton, Charlotte, Lake Norman, Greensboro, Asheboro, Greenville, Spartanburg, Tyger River, Altavista, Gaffney, Honea Path, Keene, Colmar France, Shanghai, Wuxi, Yantai, Hong Kong, Xiangtan, Chengdu, and Beijing. I can confirm those.

Sprint is the only service in my area that can hold a call. Verizon drops calls in under 2 minutes, AT&T gets about 3 minutes, and the others barely even get service because of a lack of towers for them in our area. I only live about 8 miles outside of the I-270 circle in Columbus. Sprint is by far the best cell provider I have ever used.

My father in-law lives in Britney hills on east side of Granville/ west side of Newark. Has iphone 3gs and can hardly take a call and no 3g until he gets near the New Albany area. He gets better cell service at my house in Johnstown but still no 3g.ZWICK 4 PREZ wrote:I've been all over the world and get coverage everywhere with AT&T. "Sprint changed the landscape for Android devices by announcing the HTC EVO 4G"
I don't see how they changed the landscape. You can only get Sprint 4g service in Boston, Denver, Kansas City, Houston, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C (w/ 6 more cities coming later this year), correct ? The rest of the specs are not that much better than a Nexus One. I guess if you need a 8 megapixel camera on your phone, this might be the phone for you.

I'll stick with Verizon. Every single family member and close friend (and my boyfriend) has it so it works for me. I pay $40 and have unlimited texts and internet (not sure how many minutes but I HATE talking on the phone so I don't care)...that's all I need.

I can vouch that AT&T sucks anywhere that isn't a major city. Lived in Sandusky and was very iffy and no 3G. When I moved to Bellevue, my signal was gone completely. Crazy when the turnpike is a few miles north of here.

1. AT&T service
2. Internal only battery, I work long days and need the ability to switch my battery out b/c charging isn't always an option.....

My old iPhone is now an iPod touch.
If the iPhone ever goes to Verizon, I may think about getting it again but right now, work pays for my phone and I have a BB Tour and love it. So I don't know if I'd want to spend the change for a phone when I have a free one.

That phone looks yummy.
I'll probably be getting that one in December, unless something better comes out.
Love the 4" screen.
