now now, with HP buying Palm.....I think & hope they will be on the drawing board with thoughts of bringing a game changing phone & tablet out around the same time!!!

Palm's Operating system, webOS is kickass, just need some better hardware(I don't have any complaints of my Palm Pre) though.

Well folks, being as I work at your friendly neighborhood Sprint retail store, the cell phone gods have smiled upon me and declared me the consumer advocate for the HTC EVO. I should have some more info soon, but I start extensive trainings on the device within in the next 2 weeks and will have one in hand soon enough (for free, just to rub it in everyone's face). Still no official word on the release date, but everything that has been passed down to me points to "sooner" rather than "later" so I wouldn't doubt the June 6th rumor at all. Anyways, keep the thread going guys, and I'll be sure to pass on info as it gets to me!

Off subject, but those Zagg invisashields are very nice and easy to install. I just put one on my Incredible last night....so much better than the cheap ones.

yes, zagg makes some good shields... If/when it starts to peel or look really dirty/nasty and in columbus area, polaris Zagg kiosk will replace urs for around $6, no receipt required, they judt take and peel ur shield off and apply a new one.

As imex said, the deals are amazing. New phone every year at the two year upgrade price and the plans are unmatched by competitors.

I'll definitely be checking this phone out in December when I'm up for my upgrade.
Totally agree with this. I've had all 4 "major" cell phone providers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile) and I can honestly say that Sprint is by far the best I've experienced personally. I'm sure it varies for everyone, depending on specific experiences, but between the price, tech support, and the yearly upgrade, its a pretty sweet deal. I got sick of NEVER having service with TMO and AT&T, and while I thought Verizon had a good coverage area, they tried to charge me $30 more dollars a month for the same plan that my girlfriend was on with sprint. So I said, see ya and jumped on her plan. We pay $154 a month ($77 a person) for our plan. We have 1500 minutes to split, which we never come close to using, unlimited text to any one on any network, unlimited data (which is HUGE for me for my job) and nights starting at 7pm, AND we both have full insurance on our phones. Go ask Verizon for all that for 77 dollars (INCLUDING insurance) and watch them laugh you out the door.

This is the reason why I am switching to Sprint from Verizon. Right now I have two lines, one smart phone 550 shared minutes 250 texts a month out of network and unlimited in network and insurance on one phone and I pay $107 a month after taxes. I can switch to Sprint and get unlimited data, text messages, sprint TV 1500 shared minutes and two smart phones with insurance on both phones for $123 after my company discount. I asked verizon if they could match and the best they could do was $151 that is with only 1400 minutes and no tv.

Do you guys have any company discounts or have you asked Sprint about that to save a few more $$$. They are also doing Credit Union discounts if your a credit union member also right now.... Just a little FYI( I have same plan as u2 w/ 2 phones and full insurance on one phone) and pay $131/month after taxes.

Credit union members save 10% off their monthly bill in addition to waived activation fees, which is huge. Today we also started offering discounts for AAA members as well, 10% + waived act fees.

What do you mean by terrible service? If you mean signal quality, I would disagree. I carry phones from all the major carriers...and Sprint is better than T-Mobile and AT&T, and damn close to the quality of Verizon. Nextel's signal is crappy...but that's a different technology than Sprint.

If you mean their customer service, I would have to disagree again. Sprint's customer service has improved by leaps and bounds from where it was 3-4 years ago. Dan Hesse has done a hell of job making Sprint a more customer friendly place from the store all the way up through the customer service call centers.

As far as Sprint being a dying company, once again, I would disagree. The customers churning from the company, are leaving from the Nextel side. Sprint isn't losing too many customers on the CDMA side of the company. They offer some top of the line phones, and their plans are virtually unbeatable by any other major carrier.

^^^I think he is talking coverage area.

Personally, I had tmobile and my only complaint was its coverage area. I made the switch to verizon because of the area of the state that my family lives and I visit often. Verizon is the only service in the whole county(harrison).

Rumor that the phone will also have an FM antenna built in, maybe it's the "kickstand"...

With CDMA, EVDO, WiMAX, Wifi, and Bluetooth already built in, I doubt this is true. If it is, the antenna will probably be in the headphones.

I wouldn't mind an antenna, just in case of bad signal and had a radio signal(not sure if that would happen) but for OSU football games, etc.... when the networks are bogged down if near the stadium!!!

Here's the article: http://phandroid.com/2010/05/09/fcc-says-hello-to-evo-4g-sprint-follows-up-with-training/

"we’ve learned FM Radio is indeed confirmed for the device (although there’s still no word on whether or not the kickstand will act as its antenna)"

If it is like my HTC Incredible, the FM Radio uses the head phones as the antenna.
