However, manufacturers are making chargers with different voltages...and making it so their phones only accept a certain voltage...so that you still have to purchase their micro usb charger instead of ANY micro usb charger.
It actually is a standard. Can't remember when but it was around a year ago when almost all of the manufacturers (read: everyone but Apple) agreed that it'd be a good idea to go with micro-usb in the future.

Can't share pictures, sorry. Signed an NDC.

As for the HDMI, I think I read somewhere its HDMI Type D? whatever that is.

I get it for free right now because its a demo phone, but once its on my personal line I gotta pay $20/mo for it.

I have read that the screen size is pretty much at the limit of what a phone should be. Dell is releasing a 5" screen....sounds like that might be unhandy.

The one thing I dislike is the power button on top.....its tiny and hard to press easily. Plus, to me its in a strange location.

I can't imagine a phone any bigger than that. At least not without looking like an iPad.

I've always been a fan of an actual physical keyboard so the size of the screen is perfect for me because since its so large, the buttons on the virtual keyboard are huge too.

Did it come pre-loaded with the Swype keyboard?

Ever since I started using that on a few of my Android devices...it's hard to get used to actually typing again!

Ahh, gotta love NDCs. Last one I signed was with the Department of the Army for a video game beta. Most intimidating beta EULA ever.

Thats one thing I didn't check, but I don't think it was on there because it would be listed in the main menu among the apps, correct? Oh well, I'll probably download it anyways....

Another funny thing is that Sprint at the EVO announcement at CTIA touted Google Goggles as one of the cool features of the EVO, and Google Goggles didn't come preloaded on it.

It would not be listed in the Apps. You would have to check Settings --> Language & Keyboard Settings. (Or at least, that's where you would be able to adjust it on the Droid.)

Swype isn't anything to download in the App Market right now. Some phones have it preloaded...cough cough...i1...cough cough. For awhile, Swype was letting Android customers download a Beta version of it from their website. But they've since stopped because SO MANY people jumped on that free download.

Google Goggles won't come pre-loaded on any phone, but it's a free download available to any Android customer. I can see how that would be a cool app to use with that 8mp camera.

Mooney, have you got to play with any of the accesories or just the phone? I'm interested in the car dock and a clip holster...

I'd say good, but not great. It gets the job done, but I couldn't see using it on a regular basis. maybe if you have your hands full or something. it has made a few mistakes but other than that has been surprisingly accurate.

After my 3rd day overall with the EVO, I do have to say I'm very disappointed in the power button. It seems to be the only flaw I've found. Holding the phone in your right hand, it seems that your index finger naturally rests near the top-left of the handset. Not only is the power button located on the right side, closer to the middle, but its also tiny, and not very easy to press. There is not a lot of give to it, nor is there much of a "click" when its pressed.

Its a minor inconvenience, definitely not a make or break thing.....but damn, you wonder what they were thinking when they put it there. HTC is usually pretty good about that. Touch Pro and Touch Pro 2 have it placed perfectly.

Well there's your problem. Just hold it in your left hand. Problem solved. Why are you so anti-lefthanded? You're racist against lefties.

I would hold it in my left hand, except I'm used to holding......{ahem}.....larger size things with my right hand.

does anybody ever use the power button anyway? the only time i ever use the power button on my pre is to restart it after after the software locks up, which is all the time. hopefully this phone does not have as many issues as the piece of crap pre i have. the pre's power button is in the top right corner also.

Well, considering its the only way to turn the screen on.....I'd say you need it.
