Yes we have a discount that my gf gets on our plan because of her credit union. We're pretty happy with the price of everything, because like I said, Verizon is the only one we've found that can match the coverage area but not the price...but I might make a trip in to my local store (Newark) soon to see what we might be eligible for. It never hurts to ask I guess!imex99 wrote:Do you guys have any company discounts or have you asked Sprint about that to save a few more $$$. They are also doing Credit Union discounts if your a credit union member also right now.... Just a little FYI( I have same plan as u2 w/ 2 phones and full insurance on one phone) and pay $131/month after taxes.Red_Skin_Pride wrote:Totally agree with this. I've had all 4 "major" cell phone providers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile) and I can honestly say that Sprint is by far the best I've experienced personally. I'm sure it varies for everyone, depending on specific experiences, but between the price, tech support, and the yearly upgrade, its a pretty sweet deal. I got sick of NEVER having service with TMO and AT&T, and while I thought Verizon had a good coverage area, they tried to charge me $30 more dollars a month for the same plan that my girlfriend was on with sprint. So I said, see ya and jumped on her plan. We pay $154 a month ($77 a person) for our plan. We have 1500 minutes to split, which we never come close to using, unlimited text to any one on any network, unlimited data (which is HUGE for me for my job) and nights starting at 7pm, AND we both have full insurance on our phones. Go ask Verizon for all that for 77 dollars (INCLUDING insurance) and watch them laugh you out the door.LTrain23 wrote: Actually, I feel bad for people who DON'T have Sprint.
As imex said, the deals are amazing. New phone every year at the two year upgrade price and the plans are unmatched by competitors.
I'll definitely be checking this phone out in December when I'm up for my upgrade.

Why can't Sprint just make up their mind: http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/21/sprint-open-to-lte-network-says-its-not-mututally-exclusive/

The bigger question is, when will they port 2.2 over to the EVO?imex99 wrote: HTC EVO rooted before released to public: http://m.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g-rooted-official-release

They would be dumb to "make up their mind". Right now they have the leg up on the competition with the first "4G" technology, but all signs point to LTE being superior once it reaches its full potential, so Sprint would be left out in the cold if and when that day comes.Jawbreaker wrote: Why can't Sprint just make up their mind: http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/21/sprint-open-to-lte-network-says-its-not-mututally-exclusive/

So you think it would be smart to deploy two 4g standards? That would suck if I purchased an EVO with a WiMAX radio and they switched to LTE. The EVO 4G radio would be even more useless than it is now (unless you are in select markets). Lets not get into the cost and logistical nightmare of deploying two 4G networks (LTE and WiMAX).Mooney44Cards wrote:They would be dumb to "make up their mind". #1 Sprint is not deploying the wimax network, Clearwire is. Yes, Sprint owns a minority stake in Clearwire but they are separate entities and Clearwire is spending all the money to deploy the network. #2 the switch to LTE probably wouldn't happen for about 2 years at least, by which time more than just the wimax radio will be obsolete. Also, LTE will eventually support voice and data simultaneously so it would likely replace sprints aging CDMA network.

If they wait 2 years to start a LTE network, they are going to seriously be behind VZW and ATT.Mooney44Cards wrote: #1 Sprint is not deploying the wimax network, Clearwire is. Well, no they won't. LTE is going to be very limited compared to its potential when its first rolled out. Very comparable to WiMax. So Sprint will be fine with its WiMax network until they roll out LTE once a new revision comes out and expands the capabilities of the network.Jawbreaker wrote:If they wait 2 years to start a LTE network, they are going to seriously be behind VZW and ATT.Mooney44Cards wrote: #1 Sprint is not deploying the wimax network, Clearwire is.
