Do you think Quinn can stay healthy for a whole year?...

There's nothing to lose except more games and another bad season.

Teams that try to pick a QB this way, suck.

Exactly what would you do in Cleveland's position? Hand it to Quinn, who really doesn't deserve to be the starter, just to stick with one person?

This FA market for QB's was terrible and there were no big names guys available via trade outside of McNabb.

I'm not saying he can stay healthy all year, but give the guy a full 16 games to try to. Put a respectable OL in front of him and let these Wr's grow a bit and see what he can do. Obviously, there not being offered squat for him or he'd already be a goner.

Oh well, there is no need to discuss this topic.

It either works or Lerner loses cash.

I'll bet my money on Delhomme not being named the starter nor playing a down for Cleveland unless there are two injuries.

LOL @ Cleveland fans trying to make this sound like a good move.

This is an AWFUL move. Would have been an awful move for any team to pick him up.

I would have rather signed Charlie Whitehurst!

I'll never understand people bitching about moves like these. They either work out or he doesn't see the field.

They were releasing Anderson no matter what. They were not going to invest more money into a QB since he was due a bonus on March 19th. Teams wanted him but not his contract so that had to be re done which takes time. Have they traded Quinn yet? No. So Why complain about bringing in a player that YOU are not paying for?

The only reason its a bad move is because Delhomme hasn't played great lately. But its not going to hurt anyone or anything by bringing him in with the smallest chance of earning the starting spot. Its not going to get handed to him, he'll have to earn it. Highly doubtful but he just won't walk into Cleveland as the starter.

This.
Only thing I can see negative is that we go from one QB controversy to another.

Not saying its a good move. Not saying its a bad move. Its a move for a chance or opportunity.

If it was my money, then it would be a bad move.

Come on now. You can't be serious here. Delhomme had 1 respectable year out of 12 (03 or 04). He's been shit since.

Nice response. They are no better at the QB spot right now than they were last year. He would not have signed here if he was not going to be the starter.

Troy Smith would've been a solid pickup, I think.

Maybe Baltimore didn't want to give him up but the Browns never tried. Holmgren had his big plan to bring in Wallace, who he has so much confidence in that only a few days later he picks up a 35-year-old, down-on-his-luck QB who is clearly past his prime.

They've done a whole lot of nothing. Anderson and Quinn = Quinn, Wallace and Delhomme

If he's washed up and Quinn proves to mangini/holmgren he's the man for the job then delhomme will sit. I don't understand what people don't get about this. We didn't give up shit to bring him in so I don't get why everyone is crying about it.

Holmgren must think Brady Quinn sucks, because he clearly is gone after this move.

Neither Wallace or Delhomme will be a 3rd sting QB here this season, so one would think that means Brady is on his way out the door.

Did they sign Delhomme because they take someone in the draft?

Just throwing it out there...

I mean it looks like Delhomme or Wallace will be the starting QB for the Browns next year.

Even an "average fan" can see that is not going to be the solution for very long.

It's up to the front office to scout the league or the draft and find their guy to avoid having a competition every training camp and more specifically having a competition during the season where everybody starts 3-4 games and then they're out. The new regime cleaned up the mess the old regime left and then dumped a new pile of trash. :D
