Pretty solid show tonight that answered one of the biggest questions of the series. They need to build on this episode for the rest of the season since tonight was pretty good.
This was, IMO, one of the best LOST episodes ever. Up there with "The Constant".
I have been kind of dissappointed with this season, but this episode catapulted this season.

The show writers/producers stated previously that it was not hell nor purgatory.
At least we know now why Ricardo never ages and is so mellow about everything.
Still trying to absorb everything else in the episode. I'm guessing Hurley is the next leader of the island.
My thoughts of Hurley are the same.
This show is going in a direction I didn't think it would. I was thinking JAcob was the evil one and the man in black the good one. They are misleading us but I don't know which way, which is why the show is so great.

Hurley is a good call for the next guardian. He is very underrated in the fact that he does a good job of keeping people calm and together. The obvious choice has always been to make it be Jack (at least thats what they want us to think) but he is just to emotionally unstable. I can't see it being Jack, Kate, Sun, or Sawyer (who am I missing for the 6th candidate???). I like the choice of Hurley.
The only big twist I could see to that is if Jack becomes the force of good for the island and Sawyer takes over for the "Man in Black" and they continue their rivalry for the rest of time.
And I still think Aaron has a huge role to play in this. Maybe Aaron is the guardian? A lot of characters have simply been written out of this show but they always are careful to keep a mention of Aaron in about every other episode.
And last...something big has to happen with Ben Linus. I wonder if he is actually the mastermind behind the whole island and has pitted the men in black/white against each other. Maybe he put himself on the island just to watch the festivities.
I think the 6th canidate you are missing is Sayid. And I believe we don't know if it is Sun or Jin.
I don't agree though that Ben pitted the men in black/white against each other considering they have both been there long before Ben's existence.
