Ok, I delivered pizzas last night, for the first time in 7 years. I did pretty good in tips, as I was the only driver. I had about 12 deliveries and made $40 in tips.

So, my question is:

Do you tip the pizza guy?

Yes. It starts at 20% and goes up or down based on the service, but I don't think I've ever flat out never tipped.

I think I've only not tipped the pizza guy once, but that was when my pizza was an hour late. Unfortunately where I live now, I don't think anyone will deliver.

Ive always tipped. Bartend so I know the importance of it. You wont make much money if you dont treat the customers right. Sometimes it dont matter what you do though theres always that one the never leaves a tip.

"Always" and "this thread sucks" aren't mutually exclusive. :)

As someone who used to deliver pizzas I always tip. My brother told me the other day that he never tips the pizza boy or his waiter/waitress in a restaurant. His reasoning was because people don't come to his job and tip him. I know he is my brother but wow that is probably one of the dumbest things I have ever heard lol.

Always..well..I guess most of the time..depends on the service. I tip quite well too. At least $5.00. I delivered many a pizzas back in my day. One out of the three different pizza shops that I've worked..the 'delivery charge' didn't go to the driver like it was SUPPOSED to though..and that deters a lot of people from tipping..b/c they think the driver is already getting a 'tip' from the delivery charge.

Unrelated note..nice to see you're taking up that second job for those Martinsville tickets coyote. :D

I always give the pizza guy a couple of bucks. That really isn't an easy job.

If I am out to eat, I always start at 20% and go up to 30% if the service is really good.

Always

I don't think I've ever purposely not left a tip. If the service is bad, I'll leave $1. I hate people who don't tip, especially people who don't tip bartenders. I went out for NYE to an all you and eat/drink party in chicago. Some of the people in our group didn't feel it was necessary to tip the bartenders because the drinks were free. No way, I still tipped. They are spending their NYE at work.

When I delivered a few years back this group of guys would order the same pizza once a week. The total always came to 10.95 and they would give me 11 bones and tell me to keep the nickel. Man I always hated delivering there lol.

Had a guy that ordered the same thing as well..except his was every other night. Still remember it..2 pizza subs with olives. LOL The pizza shop was right across the street from a gas station..so he'd always have me stop there and get him a couple packs of cigarettes too. His total was always $15.00 with the cigs...and he always give me $35.00. I liked going there. :)

I usually tip. If it's bad weather I usually give a much nicer tip.

I had one pizza guy show up like 45 minutes late and the pizza shop said they couldn't get ahold of him but my pizza should have been there by now at the very latest. about 5 minutes later the guy rings the doorbell and says that he was driving up and down my street and just couldn't find my house. Too bad I had been sitting on the front porch for about 35 of those minutes AND my street number is very large on my front porch, you literally can't miss it. I gave him exact change.

Ha that is pretty sweet! The best tip I ever received was 20 bones but it was double good because it was at a strip club. It's funny because I thought that they would have me wait in between the double doors and the dj would come out and get the pie or something but they opened the door and let me in the club.
