I agree with every single comment above!

Before you leave, ask for a letter of recommendation!
Immediately start hitting the job boards like Linkedin.com and get your resume out there. Send it to every head-hunter you can find that specializes in your specific talent, and include a copy of the letter!

Good Luck, man... My Son has been looking for an entry level Chem E job since last August!

No snow we go! wrote: I would also send this resume to Pennsylvania Avenue in D.C., President Obama has some experience with a challenging name. Write directly to him... explain your situation and your desire to live out that dream job... he (or someone in his posse) may pull strings for you. I would think big... you never know. Best wishes.
Definitely this. You got this far Upper. Don't let this hold you back. Instead of seeing this as stumbling or roadblock, use it as your stepping stone to bigger and better things. Now's the time for a new dream - far above this one you just had. Shoot for the moon....land a star!

Upper, you have managed to impress a large number of people on this site via a limited means of expression -- just think what you can do if you apply this skill to your job search? Not to simplify the process by any means, but with your skillset and talents, perhaps an "outside the box" (I hate that term, I know) approach to your job search is the best way to go? The old school "send my resume" approach is antiquated and lumps you in with too many people. Wish I could offer advice, I think you have an advantage with your brain and your articulation skills, so maybe start there?

I'll keep my eyes and ears open for any openings down here in Cincinnati if you aren't opposed.

Upper, There's always a better job than you had. Think back to before you got that job and what you felt like. Get out there and bang those doors and make your "luck" happen again. And you have another job on your resume'.

Good jobs rarely come knocking on your door. Get out there and put applications in on jobs you don't even think you have a chance at . "LUCK" happens but you have to be in the game...

Good luck.

Upper, whats up with the name that would get you overlooked??

Trust me... nothing could be worse than "sonofsam" lol I really had no idea when I picked this name that it was a label of a serial killer... Kinda feel a bit freaky now, but I have gotten use to being called sam. Keep your head up...

As your search continues you need to save and read this thread. It must be tough emotionally to go through this process and I bet this thread might remind you what people really think about you.

Best of luck in your search. Look forward to hearing about when it comes to an end.
