Copied from another local forum
Well my fiance was out tonight at park street patio and her friends car was broken into. She left her purse in the truck of the car and left her engagement ring there as long as everything else that was inside the purse. Anyone that works at a pawn show if you guys could keep a look out and if it shows up call me or if you can let any other pawn shops know i would greatly appericate it. I have to change the house locks tomorrow, that is easy but im pissed about the ring. It was not insured eaither.
Personally, my first concern would not be the ring, it would be "why did you take the symbol of our bethrothment off to go to a place where a lot of singles go?"

BTW this is NOT me.

Yes. My first thought as well, why was the ring in the purse and not on the hand?

If she's trying, she is. It's not like women have to try that hard to get it, if they want it.

My other thought would be that she thought the ring was really ugly and wanted a different one. Of course in this exact scenario that is ruled out because there was no insurance on it.

If she was hot, the ring wouldn't matter to any guy lookin for some action.

Well the spelling and grammar of that post makes me feel a lot better about these boards.

My wife has never taken off her engagement ring unless we're in bed at home, there is a safe in a hotel room or she's taking a shower. Why would any woman leave her purse in a trunk (or "truck") of a car is beyond me, especially if there is an engagement ring inside? My wife doesn't let her purse go outside her sight for a second unless I'm carrying it for extreme situations.

I understand questioning her intent at not wearing the ring.

Maybe it didn't fit and she didn't want to accidently lose it.

My wife would only get a CZ replacement since she obviously either can't be trusted to hold onto the big girl ring or isn't worth the real deal (assuming she's getting some strange).

"I don't love you, but my dick is small. Please don't tell anybody."

The conversation would go like this

Me: Can I buy you a drink?

Her: Sorry I'm engaged

Me: Well I have a goldfish

Her: What?

Me: Oh, I thought we were talking about shit that doesn't matter.

Hmm, Gblock is probably right, it looks like like an older ring. It's hard to find a non-solitaire set these days, not that it matters but it probably isn't incredibly valuable, not worth insuring (although IMO jewelry insurance is so $$$$ and covers so little it isn't worth it in neraly all circumstances).

I dunno about it being a bad idea to insure rings. My sister has full loss on her $5k ring for $3/month on her homeowner's.

My grandpa's wife has a policy on her $30k ring that is only $32/month. She lost it at a rest stop in Kentucky and State Farm was going to pay out. The agent personally drove down there to look for the ring. Luckily someone found it and turned it in before the insurance paid out, but they had approved the claim.

Dude needs to run the other way.
Manhattan Buckeye wrote: Why is the fiance wearing a wedding band?
Yeah, that's not part of the ring. That's a separate band. Odd.

It's completely part of the ring. There is one in the front and the back.
