Oh, by the way, I say no. I think Canada comes back and claims gold. I think the US takes bronze, hopefully silver. I just don't see them winning gold though.

Ummm..... If Russia/Canada plays for the gold, then the other one wins the silver... Which would mean USA wins bronze.

I wouldn't worry thought, it will be USA/Russia for the gold with USA winning 3-2.

With the talent deficit that this team was facing coming into the tournament, the general feeling was that just ending up with a medal would be a huge achievement.

I hope so. It'd be really great to see from a team that wasn't expected to do much

:( He is clearly saying, Russia or Canada is going to take gold. USA, who will face ONE of them, will take silver. :( :( :(

Russia and Canada play today. One will be eliminated. He's saying the winner of today's game will end up winning gold.

Can the US win gold? You bet they can, especially riding a hot goalie like Miller. They are also fortunate that they will not have to see Sweden, Russia, or Canada until the gold medal game. Take care of business today against the Swiss and they assure themselves of at least playing for a medal which coming in is already a big deal. Win 2 games and they guarantee a silver for sure and a week ago I would have been thrilled with a just a medal. They can win this tournament.

The only threat this team faces on the way to the Gold medal game is the winner of Czech/Finland.

Yep. Hope it's the Czechs, they looked like poop last night against Latvia.

I say silver. Canada and Russia are just too good. Yea we won once, but we would win against Canada probably one in ten times and Russia about two in ten. A victory over Switzerland shouldn't be too difficult today, but the next game could easily be one we lose against the Czech Rep. or Finland. It will be a pretty good tournament.

If we face Russia, there offense is their biggest threat since their defense is pretty sub-par.

Thanks everyone for clarifying what I already said pretty clearly.

USA will (hopefully) play the winner of today's Canada/Russia game (hopefully Russia) and will IMO take home the silver medal.

Asking the USA to beat Canada twice, or Canada and Russia is just too tough.
