Going for first time tomorrow with the wife and son. I have been told to eat offsite before and after as the food there is quite expensive. Are there any other tips or advice for our trip from those who have been there?

My wife and I took our son there this past summer. It was a lot of fun. It is expensive, both going to the park and then eating there, so I would definetly recommend eating before and after.

Our son had such a great time. Doesn't matter what age as their baby/kid section is a lot of fun. And if you have older kids they have a lot of activities for them too.

As for a tip- Try not to drink any of the water as I can only imagine how much piss is in the water.

Not sure of any advice for the resort, but I highly recommend you go down the road for dinner/supper and try the Roadhouse. MMMM!!! Awesome steak and mini-football size baked potatoes w/ the best rolls you could ask for. Just my opinion!!

Sounds like we now have dinner plans. Is that N. or S. of the park, and is ot on 250?

Obviously depending on his age, keep a close eye on your son. Had a kid drown in one of the pools over the summer, it was big news up here. Some blamed it on the lifeguards, but that place is/was crazy crowded. Just make sure you're paying attention. Sorry, not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but just sayin.
Also, as far as food...go down 250/Milan Rd. about 3/4 mile and turn left into Danny Boys. Best pizza/subs/pasta around and fun place to eat. They give you HUGE portions too, you won't be disappointed.

RoadHouse is north on 250 right after Route 2.

Kalahari went nuts after the kid situation the week after lifeguards were EVERYWHERE. My girlfriend works in the spa and when I was living in Sandusky, I would go up there to meet her for lunch and to hang out.

The arcade is AWESOME. I also suggest eating outside the park.

I will be staying there for my birthday the 28th to the 1st.

Kahunaville has a great bar with flair bartenders if you want to check that out for a little bit. They usually have activities for the kids like cookie decorating and such.

The indoor waterpark is AMAZING. It may be a little busy this weekend though. This week they were 90% booked in most rooms. If there is a big conference in the convention center, then it will definitely be packed. Definitely take a look in the Nia Center though, the place is amazing down there.

We are bringing 80-100 folks in our group, so with the rooms and such, we are fully expecting the place to be packed to the rafters. I just hope the lines are not too bad. My son has a short attention span, and will not wait in line if they were giving away free candy for life!

Luckily there is so much to do in the Water Park that there usually isn't too long of lines unless they are PACKED. There are a lot of attractions though.

How old is your son? Is he going to ride the bigger rides?

Get there early. The people who are staying at the resort get in an hour or two before regular guests but if you get there early get the big rides out of the way first. Don't waste your time on the wave pool or little slides.

Also on some rides you have to grab your own raft. So look at the top of the ride or the line( if you can) and see if other people are carrying rafts up.

He will be 5 in July, but he is taller than some 6 year olds that he is friends with. He is a adrenalin junkie,(4 wheelers, snowmobiles, you name it) so I am sure he will ride anything that they will let him on especially if I can do it with him.

There are height requirements posted to the left before you enter the park. I think most are 48" - 52". There is also an imposed rule for I think under 48" that they must wear a life vest, provided for free from Kalahari, in certain areas. I'm sure he is probably over 48" though.

Since they put in the wave pool the lines on the other rides aren't nearly as bad....at least half the people in the place are typically in the wave pool, so even though they added rooms (and people) the rides are actually less of a wait than they were before. We went last summer, it was completely sold out and there was a baseball tournament they were hosting. Some rooms had 6 to 8 people in them so the place was actually "over full" and the lines were still shorter than when we went before the wave pool opened.

As for the food, I think all the rooms have frig/micro in them. Bring snacks....the kids won't want to leave, so unless you plan on going out to eat at 10:00pm I would suggest just ordering pizza...Chet & Matts is the best in town.

btw....nice work on the "bikini excuses".....care if I use those sometime, they seem so much better than mine....lol

Chet & Matt's is amazing. They have a variety of pizza combos that are amazing. The Wing and Cheddar pizza being my favorite.

Directions to Chet & Matt's. Take 250 North past the Mall and most of the main attractions. Turn right on Strub Rd. (intersection with Executive Cleaners, Pet Supplies Plus and a National City Bank) Chet's is on the left past Menards about 1/10 of a mile.

If you are into Chipotle style of food, check out Qdoba if you've never had it. In my opinion, 100x better than Chipotle.

Qdoba is north on 250 at the interection of 250 and Mall Dr. Turn left at the intersection in the strip mall. Qdoba is all the way to the left.

I have heard of Qdoba, but have never been to one. Any good wings joints in the area? The wife is a wings junkie, and it might be a good "sorry for looking at so many bikinis" offering to get her wings after.

I just noticed that you are in Bellevue Keebler. Do you know Ray and Linda Parsons by any chance? Linda drives a blinged out yellow H2, and they own a business out there called Pro Power Equipment. They and their adorable dog are good friends of mine.

There is a BW3's on 250 North of Route 2 on the left in the plaza behind Taco Bell/Long John Silvers. We went there last night and there was a wait like no other there because of the Cavs game. Chet and Matt's does have wings and they are good but not extraordinary. Lee's Chicken next to Qdoba has good chicken. Never had their wings but I'm sure they would be worth a shot.

I'll try to think of another wing place but I'm going blank.

I don't know many people in Bellevue yet, just they people I work with the credit union. I've seen that H2 though.

Thanks to everyone who gave suggestions. It was a blast. We will definately be going back. (Maybe on a weekday however). My 4 yr old son was a daredevil. He rode everything that he was allowed to. (42") Two days later, and my calves are still aching from the wave pool and climbing all of the stairs. I could have done without most of the alcohol consumption by others. I am curious how they could afford it. I also think there should be a common understanding that you clear as many tubes out of the wave pool as possible so that there is actually room to be in there without getting pounded. Also, am I a bad person for wanting to deck people for being assholes in the lazy river? Come on people, just be a little bit polite. All in all a great trip. They really run a world class venue there.
