I really like the idea of playing those seniors. They deserve it.

We did cut the nets down. See below. The best part was Albert's promised he'd dance at half court and get a lightning bolt shaved in his hair if we won the conference. The dance looked more like a rain dance, but he said he'd been working on his dance moves all afternoon.

A lot of people got to play in this game with some of the seniors who hadn't played a great deal getting to start.

Orrville won its first tournament game by 14-16, but it wasn't pretty. Trailed at half time, but came out an scored the next 16. The zone and poor shooting hurt, plus we didn't get back for the fast break. Tuslaw won 5-6 games this year and we forced them into a ton of turnovers. Next game is against St. Thomas who beat Tuslaw by 4 early in the year. We need to start playing better in this next game.

That's an under statement, the girls have really only stepped it up against Wooster and the W. Holmes games they have won very ugly and last nite was no exception, But last nite there were some jitter's and just playing in the PIT Orrville always has a tough time.
They need to get on St. Thomas right out of the gate and not let them hang around so they can get there re-match with Manchester next Thurs.
Anyhow "A win is a win " at this point.
Good Luck Lady Riders!

Didn't get to see the last game due to becoming a grandpa, but heard it on the radio. The next two games will be difficult ,to say the least, and we'll have to play our best to win. The road to State is the most difficult thru this region of the four and may be the most difficult district in this region.

Good Luck tonight Ladies!

Also, why on earth is the tourney at the PIT. No offense Triway but that is one of the top 2 worst gyms to watch a game!

Bring home a win Riders!

^^Gym is sold out...but not that big of a deal when you're selling 1,000 tickets to 4 schools. Might be better to have the dist. semis on 2 different nights like Wooster does it for the boys.

Wish we would of been down south where they still shoot in peach baskets. We would of gone to state in DII or DIII if we went down there where there's no competition. WH would of been the 4th seeded team in this DIII district behind Smithville, Manchester and Orrville. We still whooped your ass two times. We're bringing everyone back next year almost and I never would of guessed we would have been this good. Cudos to the coaching staff and the girls who stepped it up to exceed expectations. Hillary Plybon made a monster leap in basketball this year and Hannah was phenomenal for a freshman. We have other players in that freshman class that will contribute next year. My guess was 14-6 or 15-5 this year and we ended up 18-2 in the regular season. That can be accredited to coaching and players stepping up in crunch time.

Let me first say congrats to the Lady Riders on an outstanding season. Secondly, I know 300 can get under posters skin, but it shouldn't cause you to post carelessly. You cannot possibly think Orrville would have cruised through the Dresden district and Regional in Div. II. I think Minerva, Olentnagy, Col. Eastmore Academy, Greenfield McClain, or Miami Trace would give Orrville all they could handle.

Also, beating a team twice on last second shots (and this is taking nothing away from the Freshman) hardly qualifies for whipping a teams ass. I will agree with you that Orrville should be good for a few more years. But so should WH. We also will have players stepping up from the Freshman class as well as this years 8th grade class. IMO this is where Orrville will probably not get much help, middle school level next two years.

Not a good way to end the season. I am glad we are a young team. They got there feet wet and I hope will be hungry to wipe that bad taste from their mouth next year.

Got a little carried away and that is what 300 wants, but I thought I'd jerk his chain a little. LOL. I'm doubting we would of gone to State down there , but it was fun to say. The sectional- districts down south do tend to be easier, but when you get to regionals its always hard. Should be good battles between WH and Orrville's freshman classes. I'd think we have the advantage next year due to our height and returning the major scorers, but that is to be seen. Our younger classes have a couple decent players, but not a whole team. We will struggle, but that's a long way off and things can change.

You did good, Flash. I put up a response last night before yours, but decided to take it off as it might have been considered too harsh....and, heaven forbid, I wouldn't want to offend anybody! ;-)

It could always be worse. The once mighty girls basketball program at Wooster hasn't won a tournament game in 6 years. Ouch.
