I'm not saying Lebron is going to New York, but c'mon you guys would have to be naive to think that the Knicks won't be able to attract some nice free agents. The Knicks have been attractive to high ticket guys in the past, they will in the future too.

Players enjoy playing for D'antoni. You guys might not believe it, but they do. Joe Johnson has already said he is taking a visit to New York after the season is over. I wouldn't think it would be a stretch to think that Amare will pay him a visit too. They have a few nice players left and then the rest of their cap can be spent on filler. The Knicks won't be in the Finals next year, but they can build themselves into a 3-6 seed pretty quickly

Looks like Boston traded Eddie House to NY for Nate Robinson

No star like LeBron wants to be a 3-6th seed, especially when you are the #1 seed now. No star is going to be attracted to a team with a "few" nice pieces which means two guys and a bunch of scrubs.

Joe Johnson is nowhere near the star power of LeBron or Wade. That's why I said NYK will be stuck with Joe Johnson.

Players may like playing for D'Antoni but they will never compete for a conference championship nor an NBA title.

Players aren't like you and me. Many of them care more about the Benjamins, then they do about the Finals. Don't get me wrong, they want to win the Finals, but I think before they care about that, they want paid. Players like playing in New York, they like the buzz. Players also like D'antoni's offense. They score more points, they look better, etc. Therefore to me and you it doesn't always make sense that somebody would go to a bad team like the Knicks, but you can be sure that somebody will

And to the Lebron business.... If Lebron goes to New York and they surround him with at the very least a decent supporting cast, that team is a contender-- right away.

What makes you think Joe Johnson will go to NYC?

NYC is not as big a draw as some guys want you to believe it is.

LeBron stays by your assumptions then? Since he'll make way more money in Cleveland.

Star players, true star players like LeBron/Kobe/Wade etc. care about the rings more than anything.

Lower tier players like Amar'e and Johnson may care about the money, but that may be due to them never being better or bigger than the 3 I mentioned above.

NYK will not have the money for some "good fillers" if they sign two stars.

Somebody hasn't been reading my posts and is getting defensive for no reason. If you would have read I never said Lebron is going to the Knicks. In fact I think Lebron will stay

The Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors are discussing a last minute deal that would swap Sasha Vujacic for Marcus Banks. 17 minutes ago.

No they won't. Two max stars is roughly 34-35 million.

Knicks have 3 contracts guaranteed next season:
$3,089,040 Gallinari
$1,255,440 Chandler
$1,071,000 Douglas

Eddy Curry has a player option that he sure as hell will pick up:
$11,276,883

If you take two max deals down the middle at:
$34,500,00 + $16,692,363= $51,192,363 with only 6 players

That doesn't leave much at all to get quality fillers.

Did the Boozer to Miami and Z to Utah 3 team deal get done?

Not sure why he wouldn't pick it up. Obviously he wouldn't get that much on the market, but the guys on ESPN were saying that he probably will. Doesn't make sense to me, but apparently they think that because they think he wants to go somewhere where he can play?

He has already said he'll pick it up. He'll sit his ass on the bench making 11.2 mil.

The Knicks as it stands now are just shy of being able to offer 2 max contracts.

I would think they may have to make 1 more move this summer to be able to offer 2 max deals.

What can they do?

They have 3 guys under contract for next season with Curry having his player option. They won't mov Gallinari nor Chandler as they as the pieces to entice the stars LMAO. They have Douglas who most teams won't need and Curry who they sure as hell won't be able to move.

Their situation as it stands now will not let them offer 2 max deals.

Gallinari is going to be good. He is already showing flashes.

But you are right the Knicks probably aren't a in a position to get 2 max contract guys. They have too many holes. It would be interesting to see if they could get Joe Johnson (Max) and then try to convince Amare Stoudemire to take a big deal (but not max) and then try to fill out the roster with the savings.

Yeah, I didn't think the Knicks had enough to make two max deals--in fact, I don't think there will be a team this summer that can. Anyone know if that's true?

Just curious, but do you guys think Joe Johnson is a max deal guy?

I think he is borderline, but the Knicks could get a max deal guy like Bosh and then maybe Johnson for a little less(not much though)

Johnson isn't a max deal, but the Knicks will have to pay him max to get there.

The Knicks will be dismissed by LeBron/Wade and possibly Bosh. They will have to over pay all of their FA's.

On inside the NBA earlier they said that NY has enough for 2 max contracts
