Exactly. However, do other GM's really think they can't get the Cavs 1st rounder??devil1197 wrote:They don't, its just classic Ferry. He isn't going to show his hand to teams, makes the Cavs look desperate to make a deal. If the Cavaliers make a deal, he'll sit back and rob a team of a starting player.

Nothing will happen, and that is perfectly fine, imo.

I guess they think they can get it but there is no reason for Ferry to say its available.se-alum wrote:Exactly. A 1st rounder from the Cavs shouldn't be a deal breaker since it will be down around the 30th overall pick.

Exactly, thats why I think most teams know it could very well be thrown into any deal.wes_mantooth wrote: A 1st rounder from the Cavs shouldn't be a deal breaker since it will be down around the 30th overall pick.

In Ferry I trust. He's done a great job over the past 2-3 years.
I sure hope he doesn't trade Hickson.

I saw that post and said the guy made it to get as many "thanks" as possible..devil1197 wrote: I wouldn't take this seriously, but some media guy on RCF is stating that Jamison to Cleveland will probably be completed this week. The guy is a good poster and said he would never post it without some merit behind it.
Now, Windy did say that Cleveland was looking to make a move before the AS break so its not totally out of the question.
For one, the trade would have to be completed on Thursday, as there will be no trades during the ASB...
By the way, Wally did say he was open for a S&T with the Cavs.. This would help A LOT. It means we could possibly do two different moves, OR, we could trade him instead of risking Z...

W&G had a conversation with his guys and he confirmed what the thread started stated. Nothing is 100% because in the end it comes down to Ferry and the Wizards GM but it sure does sound like a real possibility now.LTrain23 wrote:I saw that post and said the guy made it to get as many "thanks" as possible..devil1197 wrote: I wouldn't take this seriously, but some media guy on RCF is stating that Jamison to Cleveland will probably be completed this week. There are no announced trades during the ASB, don't think GM's are not talking and finalizing any deals that they may have on the table this weekend. Stern just doesn't want them announced and taking press away from the ASG.

You would think the Rockets would hold on to McGrady so they could try to sign Amare next year

Wine and Gold posted this last night, just found it and was wondering why everyone on RCF was talking about Houston with Cleveland today.
I checked it out for fun on the trade machine. It works perfectly. The trade that ultimately lands us Jamison is, in my mind likely to be a three way that could possibly involve the Rockets.
I got an IM from a member of this board actually as I came on to give you this peice of info... and he has inside information on exactly the same thing I was going to bring to you.
Z could be being sent to Houston, with Jamison ending up here ..Caron Butler in Houston. McGrady to Wizards.
Other filler may be involved, but this could ultimately be how it goes down if and when it does.
Yes. That's why it would be set up that way due to having more trust that Houston would follow through (with the buyout of Z).

I would worry about Z going to the Rockets, that team doesnt have a guy on their roster over 6'10. I want Jamsion but Z is an important part of this team. If Ferry is promised that Z will be bought out then I''m all for it.

That's a point the guys on RCF made. Ferry is on good terms with Houston's FO and W & G stated that it would make Cleveland feel better having Z sent to HOU over WAS.KR1245 wrote: I would worry about Z going to the Rockets, that team doesnt have a guy on their roster over 6'10. Just some new "news". Not sure if Cleveland will make a trade but its something to pass the time with.

It sounds like Ferry has been pretty active. I know that there are always alot of rumors out there right now but where theres smoke there is usually fire. I think the 3 team trade involving the Knicks, Rockets and Wizards could be a pretty good indication that the Wizards are finally ready to "blow it up". I cant imagine them holding onto Jamison after getting rid of Butler and Heywood. I just hope that they bring down their asking price or that Ferry is able to find another team to get involved.

There's an Insider article on ESPN about trades that "should happen." Basically it's trades that Chad Ford thinks should happen.
2 of which caught my eye:
As a Laker fan, I want Hinrich. I just don't think we need to get rid of J Farmar.

And...2. Pistons-Jazz-Mavs
Detroit gets: Carlos Boozer (from Utah), Josh Howard (from Dallas), Matt Carroll (from Dallas)
Utah gets: Tayshaun Prince (from Detroit)
Dallas gets: Richard Hamilton (from Detroit), Kwame Brown (from Detroit)
He says that none of these really have been rumored and that he came up with them on his own. But for Utah that is one of the dumbest things I have seen. It's basically a straight up Boozer for Prince deal; which is definitely a better deal for Detroit.4. Lakers-Bulls
Chicago gets: Jordan Farmar, Adam Morrison, Josh Powell
Los Angeles gets: Kirk Hinrich

Per Windy:
Trade update: There's a moratorium on trades being completed or announced over All-Star Weekend so there won't be anything done until Monday.
However, the Cavs have intensified trade talks over the past several days and have been making some progress, according to sources.
Several sources have said the Cavs have included the Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons in their conversations, possibly in an attempt to set up three-team deals. The Cavs' major targets are still believed to be forwards Antawn Jamison and Troy Murphy. But they have been having some conversations about shooting guards and the talks with the Pistons could involve Richard Hamilton, who has been made available in recent weeks

But between them saying that and Windy saying our trade talks are heating up RCF has crashed for me lol.

Windhorst says that the Cavs have also been exploring SG options (Mo Williams injury more serious than thought?)
Name to key an eye on: Rip Hamilton, which is a phenomenal prospect for the Cavs.
