Yeah the people who are questioning dumping JJ Hickson, for Amare are killing me.

This move would make the Cavs much more dangerous, as Amare is twice the player JJ is at this point.

I still don't think they win a title even with A'mare.

Lakers are still the team to beat

I also don't think Shaq and A'mare will get aong and it will disrupt the chemistry of the team

Haha. There are a few differences this time around. If you remember correctly, Cleveland has this guy named LeBron James... yeah he's pretty good. And Shaq was never going to work out in Phoenix. A big fat plodding center was never a good idea for the fast paced fun and gun they run

i actually think the cavs match up with LA very well. when z and shaq are on the floor together there size really bothers bynum and gasol. so getting z back is a must. no one would be able to touch the cavs in the east if this trade goes down

I really hope Amare doesn't go to the Cavs. That'll be the next dynasty, and I won't get to see another Heat championship for a long time.

For some reason(not just trying to piss Cavs fans off)...I don't think this deal will happen and the Cvas will have to "settle" for Murphy or Jamison

Charles Barkley said it best...old people don't get healthy, old people die. The Cavs already have shown they can beat the Lakers and Magic(the two threats in my mind to keep the title out of cleveland, barring injury to LBJ). If the Cavs get STAT this board will explode with happy Cavs fans and jealous trolls

I'd say its 40% Cavs , 30% Suns, 25% Heat, and 5% other. Amare is thinking about sticking with his contract, which will allow the Suns to hold onto him next year and then trade him. But if they really do want to get rid of him I believe it'll be the Cavs. Miami is more reluctant to take on JRich than the Cavs are. Plus, the salary is a bit better with the Cavs because of Z's buyout and JJ's smaller contract compared to Beasley.

If the Cavs get Amar'e, they are instantly the team to beat, if they're not already.

Amare wants to win championships...Dan Gilbert doesn't mind paying people. He comes here, him and LBJ sign new deals and everyone is happy. Is Richardson hurt? Im not sure I understand why a team wouldn't want him as part of a deal. I know he has a stupid contract and once again this plays into the Cavs favor.

This. Lebron is the best player in the league and STAT is one of the best forwards in the league. Mo Williams is going to have the easiest job in the world. Still hope they somehow get some depth at guard though, Delontes situation scares me.

I've always been under the impression that the defending champs are the team to beat until they lose.

Maybe the thought process has changed....but that's still the way I think

Hate to give up JJ....but it's about winning now...and there's nothing JJ can do that Amare can't.

JJ has been a benefactor of double teams on Shaq and Lebron...he's simply a high energy finisher....much like Varejao in his first few years.....with JJ having a slightly better jumpshot.

JJ might be an all-star in a few years...but the Cavs dont have the luxury to wait.

Gotta make deals that make you instantly better....there's no more playing for the future...unfortunately.

I have a feeling Danny Ainge has something up his sleeves. I been hearing Celtics trade rumors that last few weeks. If he shocked us bringing in Garnett and Allen, don't be shock if he does something similar before the deadline to counter the Cavs trade.

That's your opinion....but I happen to think your wrong

You also forgot to factor in perhaps the biggest piece of the puzzle:

The Celtics have called about Amare. I don't see anything there though. Good post redrider. My thoughts exactly.

I've always found that to be the stupidest argument out there. With free agency, every year is a new year. Teams lose players, other teams get better.

Which is exactly what LA did

ytown---yea.....it is

Rumors are that Boston are in talks to get Gerald Wallace AND Antwan Jamison. If they get those two....it would pretty much negate the Cavs getting A'mare

Agreed. Lebron is clearly the best in the world right now.

Kobe may be a better winner, leader than Lebron is at this point

But when it comes to the best player, it's Lebron, and really it's not even close.
