Not sure I know what you are talking about? Was something done to the track? I know that the track and CC teams have had some success lately and have been raising money, but I have heard nothing from the Boosters about the track or anything done to it. If something was done to it, it would most likely be done by the Boosters.
I was meaning the money that was spent on re-doing the track a few years back. It is nice, looks good, but not hosting any events. Was there a problem with the track? Something about the lanes not right?

All I will say about the track is, that it's fine and we will host 4 track meets this year. If you would like to hear more ask me in person and I will give you the real answer.

I know this is the wrong forum, but Manaze is right Coach Jack is doing a great job with the track team and they should be much improved this year.

Again... Jack is a GREAT coach and a GREAT guy. I was not making fun of this man in any way, I know him personally very well and my family knows him very well. I was giving him the respect he deserves...

sos I don't know if your last post was to me but I hope it wasn't. Jack was one of the best people I know and even though he was only a trainer when I was there he def. was one of my favorite people. There are many things about Creek I don't like but with guys like Jack and correct me if I'm wrong his is asst. coach for the track team is Lucas I belive at least Creeks track team is in good hands. Also I want you to know I don't want to see Creek fail. Belevie it or not I love Creek and would love to see my kid lace it up there and play where me my brother and even my grandfather played when he was at JU. I just don't want my kids to have to go through what a lot of kids went through at Creek. They won't be at the high school for around 10 years so I really do hope that things keep turning around. I feel with this recently passed levy it is a start.

No it wasn't... Someone made fun of the fact that I said Jack is a great coach and a great guy... I was restating what I said. I've known Jack for years. That post wasn't to you at all.

As far as you not wanting your kids to go through what a lot of kids went through... What do you mean? Just the condition of the school or something else? One thing that you do have to look forward to is that your kids will be attending a brand new Jr. High School, even though the High School itself is in the best of shape, I believe it creates character. Sooner or later the levy will pass for a new HS, but I will be the first to say that I will miss the building that serves now. You can't get rid of old memories... Even though its old, its still feels like home.

I have a memory of Wintersville High School, too. Back in the 1960's, I performed there with the Kent State Symphonic Band. We were all treated with great respect by the Wintersville people, but I received special respect since I was a local boy.

Most of the people out here are really good people, most of those good people are just to old to care about passing a school levy... I'm sorry, but education is education. I don't care what district I live in, I would ALWAYS vote yes for a school levy. I am glad you had a good experience at the school. I don't know if most Big Red supporters look on their way home from work, but the High School has posted on its sign good luck to Big Red when they were in the state championships too :)

My other pleasant memory of Wintersville High School took place in the 1970's. I taught woodwinds at Bill DeLelles' music studio in Wintersville. Most of my students were members of the WHS Band. There were some very talented kids from there. My best was a girl named Linda Weir. Her father was a big attorney in town. Does anyone know how I can contact her? The last time I saw her, she was living in Cincinnati. I would love to talk to her again. If anyone has any info, please PM me.
