OK, my cheerleader daughter AND a JV player just told me that they were informed today that the game IS at Ashland.

We win.

It was like 50 something to upper 30's.

Sorry about the lack of details. (<-----that's what you get when only the girls are involved! :-) )

BUT............we won.

I guess we didn't have too many people there tonight...........but, at least the BRF household had 4 of them.

p.s. - what is up with the low scoring?

I think part of the low scoring is that the team is more disciplined this year than recent years in the past! Plus teams are having to work a little bit harder to score which means a slower pace. That would be my guess.

That makes some sense to me, Mr. Russell. I just think that we have an explosive offense when utilized.

BUT......whatever gets the W is all right with me! :)

Thanks for letting us all know. I was worried about this game. Good to see us locking teams down and keeping them down. We had a knack of winning (and losing) our share of tight games in the past. That told me we were playing to the level of our competition (not a good thing).

I think we had as least as many fans there as Ashland.....maybe more? I would have thought the home crowd would be much bigge over the holiday break. Great pressure defense....I felt bad for the one Ashland guard when we would crank up the pressure..it was that bad.

big game tomorrow against Akron East. They're good again this year. Another test. Last I saw they're 5-1 with the only loss to Massillon.

I saw the preseason game with Massillon and both teams were without players. Again it was preseason, but it looked like we could hang with Massillon, so I'd think we can compete with East.

Wins were over:
Admiral king
Akron North
Akron Ellet
Akron Garfield
Shaker Heights

Seems to be fairly even scoring between 4-5 players with no outstanding scorer.

Orrville wins on last sec. miss by East. Twirled around the rim and went out and then knocked away for the win. Could have gone either way. Good up and down game with a lot of action. Physical, but played with sportsmanship. 65-63.

Sweet victory tonight Riders. Although we made it tougher on ourselves than need be. Silly turnovers. Refs did a good job keeping emotions in check.

Saw one of my ole' "jj" buddies there tonight.....almost wanted to go give him a big hug........NOT........lol
