From all I've heard, you guys are in good hands. Good luck this season, except for February 6 and early March!

yep...boys and girls tonight.
Football kids have the week off per Sly.
No Sam, No Dillon playing this year (not really a surprise)....
Football kids playing varsity include Joey, Chase, Drew, Groves. Not sure about Thomas.

Orrville boy's lost tonight to Massillon 51-50. Starters were Wasson, Bolyard, Winters, Samson, and Ingram. Only two others played- Perez and Simms. Had chances to win , but missed too, many lay-ups and trouble with the press. Massillon was missing a couple of starters, also.
We really didn't look too, bad for who was available. Didn't sub until the 2nd quarter. Switched between m to m and match up zone. Lead at half time.
Bolyard looked good passing but missed layups and didn't shoot well from the outside. Wasson missed way too, many easy lay ins, but was doubled a lot. Winters looked OK. You can't teach 6'7" and he blocked a couple and hit from the inside on a couple. Ingram looks like a good defensive player, but didn't look at all to be an offensive threat. The other three had their plus's and negatives and looked OK.

Welcome BRF. I'm back, but on a different forum. The other one didn't like my gardening skills. Hope you check in on this one often. Pitman's been wondering where you have been. Will see you at the game Sat.

Is Sat. game still on? Football hasn't forced it to be rescheduled?Flash wrote: Welcome BRF. I'm back, but on a different forum. The other one didn't like my gardening skills. Hope you check in on this one often. Pitman's been wondering where you have been. Will see you at the game Sat.

Saturday's game is still on. If we'd have beaten OG, it would have been rescheduled.
Football players got last week off, join the team this week.
Might be a little bit of a slow start, got about 3 weeks to get things ironed out before the big game with Smithville over at the COW.

I heard not as of last week...but things can change. The Daily Record preview wasn't very helpful because football was still going on so no team pic to base things on.

Most of the players scrimmaged Dalton on Friday with Hoobler and I think Pirman sitting out. I don't think Corbett or Miller are playing.RedRider1 wrote: I heard not as of last week...but things can change. I'll get the scoop tomorrow, fellas, and see if there is a new printed out roster. The first one had Corbett and Miller listed.

I had heard from a good source that they were playing. Also watched the scrimmage on saturday and it was encouraging, we actually were running some offense. Joey, groves, tre, zook from the football team played for the varsity.

golfman,
thanks for the report.
I've heard Sly is a big fan of man defense (a very good thing) and he's really pushing the kids to give their all every time out. Sounds like he's doing all the right things so far.

Well, first off, Flash, I recognized that avatar and know the story........ha ha. Speaking of animals, can you see an animal (like a dog) in my avatar of the bonfire?
It sure is nice not to see any nasty remarks over here about the Riders (RR1: you know who I'm talking about)....you should have seen RiderPower cracking up at the Genoa game when I was standing with him after the game and bigp walked by.......I shouted "bigp, bigp!" and shook his hand and said "what a game, huh?"......I guess you had to be there.
Anyhow, tomorrow I will get some measurements (accurate) of our boys (and girls, too). You see, I have this thing in my class called "The 6 Foot Club" and I have it staked out against my chalk board. I have borrowed a nice level from my pal, Mr. Peters, over in IT and so I will get it exact. Some people are wanting to know what the heighth of these kids are. I'm not kidding you, I have seen some kids grow half a foot in one year on a growth spurt. It's amazing. You all will be astounded at how tall, for example, the Winters kid is.
I just gotta say, it feels good posting on here and knowing, for now, that no one is breathing down my neck watching what I say about this or that and dare criticizing anything. I'm sure if this site keeps going, that will change, though. There's something about me that a lot of people don't like: it's called telling the truth.
Now I want to give some shout outs to my fellow Riders that I have seen over here:
RR1 - da man and thanks for telling me to check out this site
Riders12 - thanks for sending me that PM and helping me figure out how it works on here
thePITman - I'm glad you got your real name back and I'm sure you will keep annoying us on here, too!!
<---learning how to use the smiley's!
golfman61 - good to see you!
Talk at ya all later!
Go Riders!

I'm guessing Winters at 6'7''. Saw him at Massillon foundation game and we needed him. Isn't real strong, but played good rebounding and when given the ball at the right spot could score. Will have to get tougher but no teaching 6'7". Did you hear about Miller or Corbett playing?

When do you play Genoa? You know they can put up 80-100 pts. each night even with their starters out at half time.RedRider1 wrote: here's the schedule for the season if anyone needs it.
