Sloppy game in the first...we got up early, but let them hang around. Only led by 9 at half (38-29).
3rd quarter was total domination. Outscored them 24-4. Black River shot terribly, but we really showed what we're capable of. Called off the dogs with 7 mins. left in the 4th. Lots of reserves saw p/t.
Everyone but Ingram played....he dressed, but did not play.
Jake led the way with 30....very good game for him.
Play Hillsdale on Monday, they're good. Have a very good PG and a slasher SG....and two big men. We may have more depth...but they're a solid TEAM. Need to bring our A game.

Besides Crossen and Moore, who I've heard about before, Cline really plays strong. Hillsdale did look good and they're a team that will be better next year.

hillsdale can be very good - although they are a poor free throw shooting team as you saw last night. Agree that the falcons will ge tough next year with Fulk, Crossen and Moore coming back. They will miss the PG, Paullin though - he is quick and has a good handle. I will be interested to see how the matchups play out with Wasson/Bolyard. I still think Orrville wins this tournament but it won't be easy.

Interested to see how we play against a fundamentally solid TEAM. In the past, that was a big disadvantage for us. Have things changed?

If Wasson only has 1 foul in the 1st half and 2 fouls in the first 3 quarters, Orrville wins by double digits, IMO.

Also, Zach with 13 after sitting out most of the first half with two quick fouls. We didn't shoot well for 3 quarters but stepped it up and on the throat in the 4th. Jake salted the game away with 3 bombs. Turnovers were big, with Hillsdale having 20 some to our 11. Hoobler HUGE off the bench and POG from QKT.

Defense won this game...no doubt!! I know jacob and joey hit those 3's in the 4th but the defense was smothering in the 2nd half. Coach Slaughter was all over the boy's to get after them defensivley!! Love it!! Shot's were'nt falling in first 3 quarter's....so what??? You use your D to make your offense go!! Hoobler was huge off the bench and pirman played alot better in 2nd half. Got the ball to wasson 3 or 4 possession's in a row to start 3rd quarter....smart!! On a side note....I thought you guy's said hillsdale was a bad free throw shooting team???!!!

I did some math....we have outscored our 2 tourney opponents by a combined score of 69-30!!! That's dominance....and attributable to coaching. defense is, and has been a big focus this year, and it's starting to show when it matters.
Is this our biggest tourney win since the 2004 win over Triway? If so, it's been a long time coming.

Way ahead of things....the College of Wooster will be playing down in North Carolina this weekend, so their gym should be open in case a change of venue is in order. I'd think it would be. Triway/Smithville sold that place out last year....and i think regardless of who we play, that will be the case this year.
IMO, the dist. semis and finals should be scheduled to be played at the College every year.

Absolutely, play sectionals at Wooster High, then all district games to the college, even though parking there sucks!

Jake with his 30 & 26 point games in the tourney is now up to 1075 points. Number 9, 1 behind #8 Rufus Johnson at 1076, 16 behind # 7 Chris Royer at 1091 , and 29 behind #6 Bob Knight , so with 30 more points he could finish at #6 , right below his dad Tom Bolyard on the all-time list, what a great accomplishment that would be!

Jake is averaging 24 ppg over his last 6.
Dont forget about Zach...with 8 more points, he gets 1,000 career points too, and just last night crossed the 400 point barrier for the season.
