Absolute garbage. Second year in a row Jake gets the shaft for POY. Harris is a fine player, but Jake had the better all-around season.

There's a clear Richland county bias in the OCC....it's not even funny anymore.

Avery on the 1st team is all you need to know about what a joke this is. He had 2 TEAMMATES who were more deserving.

Oh well, use it as motivation.

Well, at least he'll get MVP of the DIII Wooster District Tourney. I'm sure they'd rather have a berth into regionals at the Canton Fieldhouse than an All-League award.

Have to disagree on Avery, Far and away the best point guard in the league. I thought he sacrificed alot of scoring this year to get his teammates involved.

He didn't even average 3 assists per game per the OCC website.

Bolyard did that and still managed to score 21 per and grab almost 5 rebs. per game too.

Watts was the better PG if we're having that discussion.

The OHSAA negotiated with RR1 and it has been decided to move the district finals to the College. Too, bad I had to miss the Triway-Smithville game. NOT. Really boring, third Quarter score 3-2 for a total of 17-16 for all 3 quarters. That's why I want to play Smithville because if Triway gets ahead they'll sit on the ball. Not that I don't admire the strategy, but it is boring to watch.

Friends in high places.....I just got word of that too.

Glad the OHSAA could afford to pay my fee.

Good job RR1!

Halftime score was Triway over Smithville 15-13! Snoddy is slick and will do whatever he can to win. I tip my hat to him. Whoever wins, we CANNOT let the other team dictate tempo!

Go Riders!

I am really proud of what our "other guys" did last night.

If you didn't know the outcome and somebody told you that BOTH Wasson AND Bolyard were held to 21 points for the game, you would have thought..............CURTAINS!

But, not so! The "other guys" stepped up and contributed like no other time this season and did exactly what has been expected of them all year, with perfect timing!

And so I give a big BRF tip of the hat to my pals, Joey Besancon, Sam Miller, Andre Ingram and Chase Hoobler. FANTASTIC!

Congrats to Coach Slaughter! It is comforting to see good things happen to good people. I have a good feeling about Wednesday...or should I say "I gotta feeling"

I wholeheartedly agree, 5knots.

Going up against a powerhouse parochial team is nothing new for us. Been there, done that. We'll give 'em our best shot.

Memories of the Field House .... Living in the Canton City and going to Lincoln ........
From my jr. high school day, playing, watching my daughter play and going back to the All City Night Alumnae Games ( minus the cloud of smoke 4 feet thick in the rafters). Back in the 60’s and early 70’s smoking was permitted inside the building. The Field House holds so many great memories………….

Back in the day, when I had Coach Slaughter in class as an 8th grader, I used to call him "Fly Swatter"!

And now he is going to use that "swatter" on Bishop Ready!

The pep rally today featured the appearance of the entire Middle School in The House! What a sight that was to see the gym packed with all our students from grades 5-12! Coach Sly said some words and then had a shout off between the Middle School kids on one side of the gym and the HS kids on the other. When those Middle School kids screamed, it sent shivers up my spine....a real high pitched sound filled with excitement! Then the HS kids yelled back with a deeper more adult sounding whoop. It was really quite something to witness.

Our guys are psyched and ready and not taking anything lightly.

Can't wait!

GO RIDERS!
