18...if you can vote, smoke, fight for your country, drive, etc at the age of 18 (or before in the case of driving), then you should be allowed to consume alcohol

18 If the government finds you mature enough to die for your country in battle, I would say you should be mature enough to drink.

18. If you can fight in a war you can drink a beer. A 16 yr old is too young. Let them learn how to drive for 2 years.

It's not a numeric age, but I'd say once you graduate high school, you should be permitted to legally consume alcohol.

There are other countries where there is no age (I think). Do you think if the USA were a "No age" limit country, we would have problems? I think kids have a desire to drink b/c they aren't allowed to. If they're allowed to drink, it won't have that risk factor.

If you are old enough to vote for President of the United States as well as sign up to defend and possibly die for it then you should be able to consume an alcoholic beverage or buy one. I know a few 21 year olds that are less mature than some 18 year olds. If 18 year olds are not allowed to purchase or consume alcohol then are they really mature enough to vote or die for their country? JMO.

You can't place a limit like that, b/c some people don't graduate, etc. You can't NOT turn 18.

It should be 16. Everyone starts drinking at 16 or before anyways. It is up to the parents to ensure their kids are not abusing alcohol or drinking and driving.

I agree with the 18 and fight argument but i do think there is some merit in waiting til people are older... the maturity level of some kids out of high school + alcohol = no bueno

Everything should be the same age.

If people felt 18 was young, I could live with how Canada does it, 19 for everything.
