Dover and Steubenville fans, after the last meeting, are pretty respectful towards one another... I feel that Dover fans and BR fans have a lot of genuine respect for one another and the teams they support.
This game is going to be crazy. I can't even begin to think of any predictions. Best of luck to both teams.
Go Dover! It's been an amazing year. Keep it going.

This is the regional championship - anything can happen...
If Dover plays like they have all season long, there's no doubt here...
Go Dover...you have got to want it!!!

No score prediction for this one... but I have to go with Dover. As long as they show up... and focused to play.

If Dover plays like they did against NW they will get killed. If Big Red plays like they did in the 1st half against Salem they will get killed. I for one hope both teams bring their A game, like in 2006.
I was 100% sure we'd beat Steubenville this year if we were lucky enough to meet them, but after tonight's game I'm not too sure. This is the first time I've seen this Dover team play below themselves, didn't think it was possible, thought we had nerves of steel. Sooo many missed blocks on O, and assignment screw ups and dropped picks on D.
If Dover brings their A game we take the region.

Here's looking forward to a great rematch of the 2006 region 11 championship. I must say I was a little surprised to learn that Salem held a 10-6 halftime lead, but then the final score was more reflective of what I was expecting. Hopefully Dover has gotten all of the mistakes out of their system because there were way too many of them tonight. It's going to take a great effort by Dover to pull out the win next week. Regardless of what many people are saying, Steubenville is the team to beat and until that happens, they are top dog. Congrats on the win tonight Dover! Get rested up this weekend and prepare for the game of your lives starting Monday!

Where does this game get played?
Not many large stadiums in between the two.
Fawcett (or anything right in Canton) seems to be too close to Dover, plus Dover was there this past week.
Obviously New Philly is out, Dover could walk there faster than Big Red could bus there, plus with Big Red having just played there.
Mount Union? (They will probably have a 1st round NCAA playoff game that week)
Austintown Fitch or YSU? Longer drive but gets more equidistant and can hold the crowd.
Cambridge or Zanesville? Still a hike, but the distance is fairer.

After the Dover game tonight and the way Steubenville has been having a little trouble at times I really don't know who I'd put my money on.

Big Red suufered from a combo of turnovers, refs keeping the drive alive for Salem. IMO, if the refs don't screw Pierro out of a nice defensive play by flagging him for pass interference, Salem doesn't get in the endzone. D played pretty well, put in some tough spots by the offense losing the ball.
Big Red got their stuff together and dominated the second half. Big Red's D was in shutdown mode right off the bat, but flags kept them on the field longer then they should have been.
By the end of this game these refs proved they didn't understand what pass interfernce was....
Didn't necessarily like Steuby's game plan.....their strength is NOT their passing game, but they wanted to pass and run Macon up the middle. Against these teams who aren't as strong or fit as you, just line up, blow em off the ball and run at 'em.
When they finally decided to do that they got in the game. You have JoJo and Shaq and Jesse. Those kids are tough runners. They run right over the D. You saw Shaq's run to set up the TD and JoJo steam-rolling Quakers at the end of the game.
Smashmouth w/ those guys and run Macon outside. Forget passing the ball till you wear em down w/ the run....

Hmmm... Nice new digs you guys have here... Looks pretty good.
Just wanted to stop in and say what's up. I just got home from New Philly and I need to find out exactly what happened with Dover tonight. I was pretty surprised that Northwest took them to OT. However, I'm certainly not going to base any predictions on that outcome alone.
We were out-of-sync in the first half against Salem, but got things together in the second 24 minutes. No. 17 put on an absolute show.
...should be a fun week.

Did someone suggest Cambridge? That place sucks, no visitor side seating and Zanesville? Thats like a 2 hour drive for big red. This game only makes sense to be played at Fawcett. If Dover plays like they did tonight they will lose by 14, but then again championship runs have downer games in them so hopefully this will expose some things in film and kids will learn as they now have to play a near perfect game.

Towards the end of the Dover-CFNW game, the announcers on WHBC said the game would be played at Fawcett.

Dover needs this win to take the program to the next level. I think we get it done this year I really do. Dover showed me a lot by coming back in OT having been dominated in the 4th qtr. We were tired and had no momentum but the kids really stepped up when it mattered. Macon is definately the best player we will see this year but he isn't Zach Colleros, the best HS player Ive ever seen.
