Since you've had trouble following along, I've highlighted the part where you've misunderstood.

I didn't say boycotting it meant you can't talk about it. I said claiming that you're not paying any attention to it includes not talking about it (and, in particular, not initiating conversation about it).

So, it should read:

You say: "Hey guys. Look at me not paying any attention to the NFL. Boy, I'm sure enjoying not paying any attention to the NFL."

Then I say: "Um, you're paying attention to the NFL right now, by bringing it up and discussing it."

Then you say: "I'm not watching any games."

Then I say: "Watching it and paying attention to it aren't the same thing. You can pay attention to something without watching."

Then you say: "But I'm not paying attention to the NFL at all."

Then I say: "You still are, because we're still on here talking about it."

And then you go back up to the "I'm not watching any games," part, and we continue in a vicious loop for the rest of our fucking lives.

Watch the games, if you want. Or don't if you don't want. I don't really care. But let's not pretend going out of our way to talk about something is anything other than giving it attention.

Regardless of your stance on the issue, the Browns are horrible. The fans at first energy stadium should take a knee for the duration of the game to call attention to the abuse the Factory of Sadness unleashes each week. My problem is I was raised with the Browns, so I can't look away. It hurts.

I was actually going to come and say the same thing regarding the first part of your post. I am not sure what the rest of the NFL teams are doing, but I have seen the Browns make an effort to make amends with veterans and police. You're second half of your post is pure garbage. One racist dude drops the N word on NFL players, and you're going to paint that across everyone who is bothered or offended by the protests? Very lazy argument, and makes you no better than QO. Did you watch the E:60 on Joe Thomas? This quote came from Joe Thomas:

"[cleveland fans] want to see their values reflected in their stars."

That probably would explain why they would get upset with players kneeling during the anthem. I haven't been paying attention to this thread the last few weeks, so I am not sure if this is brought up, but most fans aren't showing up because their franchise has been a pile of shit. Sprinkle in the anthem protests and the uproar feels like it has been magnified. This is no different than redskins fans being more butt hurt about the redskins team name when they were losing and now far less fans give a fuck. I am sure poverty, losing jobs, and drugs doesn't make them feel any happier when they see their teams (you know as well as anyone else Cleveland fans value their teams much differently than most cities), blatantly showing disrespect. I don't see the issue with being enraged by all of those things. I am sure if you brought it up, they would be just as upset.

It has already been explained dozens of times that not everyone who is protesting is claiming a slight or victimization of themselves. Hell, there have been white players protesting as well.

You don't have to actually be a victim of something to protest it.

Hell, if it were the case that you had to be a victim of something in order to protest it, nobody would ever protest abortion.

The protest by the players isn't merely for the players.
