I had high hopes this would be the best episode of GoT ever, and it didn't disappoint.

So, of course, I need to bitch about two things that ruined perfection. First, enough with the goddamn incest. I mean, RR has to be a pedophile, right?

The second was I was going to complain about killing a dragon. It had to happen, but give us this one victory first. But actually it made a lot of sense from a strategic perspective to show, no, dragons aren't going to dominate. It's unfortunate that it had to be so compressed because so few shows remain....they did kick a lot of ass, but the WW were like "mehhh". That entire battle was really, really well done, even with the predictable calvary arriving at the last second but pretty awesome (especially that she came with all 3 dragons, despite lacking 2 riders).

And then the 2nd bitch got erased, and made a bit more sense ==> FUCKING ICE DRAGON!!!! Although I forget who knocked me on that call, I do agree that it doesn't make a lot of sense. I imagine purests are going to be heavily divided on that, even if it was awesome.

So the next interesting possibility.....You have a dragon that is Fire and Ice. Jon is Fire and Ice....

I never once thought about that lol
You didn't read my posts! Lol.

I thought this was a strong possibility from the start of this season.

The other predictions were Jon and Tyrion ride a dragon cause they are of Dragonblood, this we knew of Jon, but I Thinks tyrion is also. And finally was that Bran would warg into one and fly it around. This seems less likely now, unless he can warg into Raeghal?

Here it is: I was more convinced that Night King would attain one than the post makes it seem lol. I worded it stronger on Twitter.
Laley23;1862661 wrote:Needs a raven to let Jon know about the mountain of Dragonglass below Dragonstone. He doesn't know about Daenerys. But yes, that would in turn bring them face to face.

So, theory's? We have 3 dragons. Dany can obviously ride one. Jon can presumably ride one being Raegars son. I think Tyrion is also a Targaryian, not a full blown Lannister (Mad King loved Tywins wife) and when he set them free they seemed to know and not fry him immediately, Bran can maybe Warg into one and if one dies, can the Ice King bring him back as part of the army?

Not sure how I feel about the Night King basically being Steph Curry with an icicle...

Only 1 for 2. And it was an unsuspecting 1 lol.

But yeah, that was a crazy throw.

Anyone think they get the Lannister dragon weapons and use them on The Night King with dragonglass? Seems like a smart idea, if Cersei let's them go...

Yeah, but he stood there fearless...apparently dragon fire isn't enough. And it wasn't just the aim - dude has a hose!
Anyway....Steph only shoots 47.6% from behind the arc:)

They did kind of tease that with the long, longing looks at the Night King out of range and out of reach of their weapons. But I'm not sure you can kill the Night King - his army was defeated before, but obviously he wasn't killed. Dragon glass may work on the other WW, but probably not him.

The more you think about the Ice Dragon, though, the less sense it makes. If the WW had fought dragons before, maybe they'd already have dragons. But that war was over 1000 years ago (before the time of dragons, at least north of the wall?). So very possibly the WW had never seen a dragon before, and they just sit there like "I got this" and conveniently have a giant spear handy to take it out?

What they need to do is figure out how to make a dirty bomb with dragon glass shrapnel....drop them with their "air force" (but only two planes now).

I was pissed the second the Hound picked up the first rock. Dumb ****.

But the commentary between him and Tormund was my favorite part of the episode.

I'm really starting to dislike Arya which pisses me off. Can she stop being a little bitch and start being awesome again please?

I'm guessing only Ahor Ahai will end up being the only one who can kill him?

I respectfully disagree. I'm liking the Arya dialogue.

If anything, it at least makes sense. Whether she's trained to be a killer or not, she's still young and has spent a lot of time in "don't trust anyone" situations, so for her to bug out and act crazy when she thinks "little miss perfect" sister might be trying to take power from "cool older kinda-brother" makes logical sense (more so than Gendry running back to Eastwatch, sending a raven to Dany and Dany getting to Jon and company in a span of 24 hours at the most).

The only real question is what is the endgame for this Arya/Sansa/Littlefinger arc? Will he use the discord to his advantage or is he being lured into a trap. The trap has been a fan theory for a while, but it's sort of hard to believe Arya would casually talk about cutting off Sansa's face in a private meeting if they're conspiring, unless they both think he's got god-level listening-in abilities.

Maybe I am just too involved and there was no way the show could live up to expectations, but I think it's hard to deny the show is suffering this season. I'm not sure if its the ridiculous pace they need to move at to finish, or the lack of source material, but it just seems very Michael Bay to me now.

I could not disagree more lol

This season has been some of the best tv I've ever seen.

If you don't like the unrealistic travel, I can see how it would be annoying. But without have 2 hour episodes, there is no other way to do it. It's also wrapping up loose storylines, which makes the focus on fewer plots, which people don't like. I think lots of fans enjoy having lots of plots, and this season they have basically ended them. I think it's great, can't go into the final 7-10 hours of this show with 9 plots still going on. Have to get it down to just a few.

I love this season. S4 is still my favorite, but this season has had a ton of great moments.

Yeah, I think you're in a very small minority here. This season has been brilliant.

My only real issue is with how a few things seem to be rushed for convenience, but with two short seasons to end it instead of the usual 10-episode seasons, some corners have to be cut. It's kind of "give and take", where the overall narrative is suffering a bit, but they're making up for it with wham moments and impressive scenes, so it's fun as hell to watch regardless.

ITT in a show with dragons and dead frozen zombies people are upset about the unrealistic travel times.

Fuck the travel. Where did the white walkers get those god damn chains for the dragon. I know they're not just marching with that around their neck.

So I wonder what Dany is going to say now that she's seen the giant scar right where Jon "didn't" get stabbed in the heart?

Because it was just WAYYYYY cooler to drag it out of the bottom of a lake with huge naval chains
