So, how long will it take Dany to finally cross the sea? I'm going with the end of episode 3 (only 7 this year, and 7 more in the final season).
Also, whatever happened to Manhattan Buckeye? Seems like once the show moved past the books he no longer had anything to post on this forum

Can't fucking wait!
I've been rewatching all of the major battles. Hardhome was so awesome.

Started rewatching all of 6 yesterday.
The show to me is almost better the second watch, cause I can focus on the little things being plotted that you originally don't notice.
Also, only 6 next season right? 13 total. Though, from what I've heard they will be feature length episodes. Most being at least 1.5 hrs.

Maybe, was thinking 7 and 7. I heard episodes were longer this season, with the finale being 1.5 hrs, but the shortest was 52 minutes. I think we'll definitely get something less than 10 hours this season.Laley23;1862025 wrote: Also, only 6 next season right? 13 total. Although fingers crossed we get 10 hours, and maybe they figured it was just too hard to do in 10 one-hour episodes with the pace going into overdrive. I'm hoping the quality doesn't suffer because they have too little time to finish the story satisfactorily and completely.

I am ready! It'll be interesting to see what major characters get offed this year and what ones make it to the final season. And by major characters, I mean guys who've been integral to large portions of the show, if not the whole thing. Not Beric and Thoros, who made a cameo after being gone for 3+ years simply to give The Hound someone to interact with, which usually is a strong sign of being brought back to get knocked off.
A few guesses:
Lady Olenna -- nothing to live for, openly planning to rebel against Cersei with the Sand Girls, Cersei has definite plot armor for at least a decent amount of time, that rebellion dies with her being the only casualty anyone anywhere cares about.
Theon -- about the only thing his story arc has left for it is for him to die while actually trying to be brave. Sure, they might give him another "complete fuck up" moment for old time's sake, but yeah, this probably should happen sooner, rather than later.
Davos -- a genuinely good person who always honestly endeavors to do right by whomever commands him. I'd say the books are what's kept him alive this long, but that didn't work for Barristan, so... Anyway, he's lost the people he's closest to, so it's probably time for him to go out bravely.
Melisandre -- well, it's either find someone else who will take her on as an advisor or die. Or become undead. Getting captured by the White Walkers and being forced into their own joining of fire and ice might work.
Biggest wild card probably will revolve around how major Euron Greyjoy becomes as a character. He could wind up handing Cersei the power of his navy, getting cocky and getting run through by Franken-Gregor so Cersei doesn't feel threatened into *gasp* sharing power. Or he could be a player who eliminates someone big (or at least reasonably big) to establish himself as a legit threat.

Yeah, this season is normal I think. Next half season is the longer episodes. Had a friend who works at HBO tell me that, but he has since moved on and he told me that before shooting began. So who knows.gut;1862026 wrote:Maybe, was thinking 7 and 7. I heard episodes were longer this season, with the finale being 1.5 hrs, but the shortest was 52 minutes. I think it will be Jamie who eventually kills Cersei - they've never let us forget he is the "kingslayer"....though probably not this season. Or here's a prediction - Arya kills Jamie, and then uses his face to get close enough to kill Cersei, and then The Mountain.... parlay fails when The Hound kills her in the fake Cleganebowl.
I suspect Melisandre may have a key role still, since she appears to possess some actual magic and vision. Although, that one over on the other side of the sea also saw it in Dany, but both visions are legit. On a curious note, everything Cersei heard from that witch has come to pass.
Sam clearly has an important role to play, although I don't look forward to extended sessions at Maester University. I assume he figures out how to forge weapons with the help of Dany's dragons.
Also, I really want to see Bran mind control a Dragon and kick some serious ass.
And, for good measure, let's throw-in a zombie Nymeria battling Ghost.

I've not seen this show, but I'm actually pretty excited for it to be over so I can binge through the whole thing. It looks REALLY good.

In my opinion, it is not a good binge watch show at all, especially if you have not read the books. There is way too much going on and you won't even be able to keep track of characters if you are zipping through it.O-Trap;1862046 wrote:I've not seen this show, but I'm actually pretty excited for it to be over so I can binge through the whole thing. As a non book reader it's been great to watch an episode, go online and read a recap that doesn't contain spoilers, and then go to the next one. Especially early in show the recaps were filling in characters, their history, old rivalries, family history, etc. that you could never understand by just watching the show. That just makes the show better going forward.

I've found the best way for a non book reader like myself is to rewatch the seasons a second time. Knowing what happens helps you understand relationships, who is who and what everyone's goal within the plot actually is.

I may have to do that, then. I'm not a non-reader, but fiction isn't really my bag, so I've never touched these books.
If there's a lot going on, I'll probably watch each season twice before moving on.

Damn. That's high praise. Up to now, my favorites have probably been House, Breaking Bad, Person of Interest, and Dexter.Laley23;1862188 wrote:Thats the best way to do it.

When you combine the storyline, acting, production...it's also my favorite show of all time.

Based on episode titles, you'll be wrong by two.gut;1862017 wrote:So, how long will it take Dany to finally cross the sea? I'm going with the end of episode 3 (only 7 this year, and 7 more in the final season).

But you know if this was earlier on it would take damn near the whole season for her to cross the sea.

This was off IMDB, so the episode title should accurate, but often the descriptions aren't until its aired. Either way, based on title, looks like she will return home.gut;1862252 wrote:Ha!

Haven't been this excited about a television show since the office finale.

We're camping in Sandusky tonight prior to Cedar Point tomorrow and I won't be able to watch tonight. I think I'm going to have to stay off the internet for the next 36 hours.

Yeah, it was good.
Did I misunderstand, or did Sam send a raven that will basically bring Jon and Dany face-to-face?
And that intro with the WW King was amazing. Also, Arya is a stone cold bitch.

Needs a raven to let Jon know about the mountain of Dragonglass below Dragonstone. He doesn't know about Daenerys. But yes, that would in turn bring them face to face.gut;1862654 wrote: Did I misunderstand, or did Sam send a raven that will basically bring Jon and Dany face-to-face?
So, theory's? We have 3 dragons. Dany can obviously ride one. Jon can presumably ride one being Raegars son. I think Tyrion is also a Targaryian, not a full blown Lannister (Mad King loved Tywins wife) and when he set them free they seemed to know and not fry him immediately, Bran can maybe Warg into one and if one does, can the Ice King bring him back as part of the army?

Yeah, did a great job of reuniting everyone with characters and moving pieces into play. Not a huge amount of action, but great set-up for that action.Laley23;1862651 wrote:Fucking fantastic first episode.
