Marlins were 2nd in their division and only 7 games under .500. Not a great season by any stretch but not 68 wins and last in the division bad.

Stanton got zero props leading his team to success and Votto didn’t get any either.

Votto and Stanton were both deserving. I wish the voting would have went Votto's way, but I'm not upset Stanton won.

I did not realize Votto was a contender and thought Goldschmidt or Rendon would come in second.

Not saying that Votto did not have a great year, but thought he was more in the 4th-7th best in NL range.
Perhaps Rendon was more noticeable because Washington had a great year and Cincinnati is well,

Offensively he was either first (new school) or second (old school) and was finalist for gold glove.
