Morton was 41-62 for the Pirates

Now he throws 99 with movement and location and is a World Series hero

Three stints of 3.1 to 4 innings in the last 8 games to close out wins with 3 different hot pitchers, each with a great pitch going for them that night, with Morton tonight in the last 2 innings finishing with 16 sinkers out of 18 pitches. Coming off the mat to avoid going down 2-0, and coming back from the multi run deficits to prevail and take a 3-2 lead were big. The Houston franchise take its first World Series in their 56th season!

That was such a snoozer compared to last year. Nothing worse than Game 7 blowouts, poor Darvish though. Looked like a triple A pitcher out there

He didn't. He also didn't have an ounce of "clutch" except anyone but your Reds because they NEVER laid off his low stuff.

Somebody better stay with Darvish. Keep him away from high ledges and tall bridges. He was absolutely dreadful and dug the Dodgers into two holes they couldn't get out of. Hyperbole alert. If the Dodgers don't trade for Darvish...they win the World Series. He single handedly cost them the World Series.

Glad the Astros won. Nice to see a long struggling franchise have some success.

RIP

I always remember his play-off game against the Reds. The most un-hittable performance for the whole game I have ever seen. Great command and stuff on all his pitches. It was a giant guess for the hitters on which side of the plate he was going to attack and which way the ball was going to break to get there.

Also I remember this game in Halladay's sensational 2010 season, his 2nd Cy Young! In a gem between his two no hitters that year, one in the playoffs and on perfect game, he deprived Travis Wood of what would have been his only career shutout and only career complete game, and was also nearly a Harvey Haddix performance of 9 perfect innings without getting credit for a perfect game! And Halladay didn't get credit for a complete game either with his 9 shut-out innings.

In case you're interested in the Haddix masterpiece, here is a good account:

Altuve MVP

Stanton edges Votto....I️ agree with Stanton. I’m not one of those Reds that slurp the 40x a year Votto is pitched around with 2 outs and no one on for a BB

Stanton hit 20 more home runs than next best NL slugger...TWENTY

A lot of Reds fans bitching about Votto getting hosed by two voters putting him 5th

Two voters put Stanton 5th and 6th

Going to be tough to win an MVP these days when your team finishes in last place. I know it's an individual award, but unless you have a historic season, you're probably not winning an MVP.

Votto is great though. One of the best 5 players in baseball. It's a shame the Reds are wasting him with Dusty Baker and 60 win seasons. (there was an ESPN article on that today)

Stanton’s team way under .500 too, not Reds bad.

Votto was way more like able this year....he’s a crazy ass dude and my thinking of him killing someone has dropped a good bit
