Agree, but it should be obvious to EVERYONE by now that Trump was full of shit. Anyone who complained about Obama blaming Bush should not be blaming Obama now for things that Trump obviously didn't do or can't do. It makes no sense to blame Obama for Trump not being able to pass his wonderful version of healthcare with a Republican controlled house and Senate.

the idea that they arent just ramming it through means the R's at least are trying to be politicians and actually vet a bill. Lets not look at it as something bad. We should all be happy they arent in a hurry.

Lol wut? Leadership is trying to ram it through; they just can't get the support. But nice work at being a blind apologist!

Nobody ever wants to admit their team is wrong.

If you're talking about the politicians it drives me crazy. Stfu and do your job.

If you're talking about people like us, I think 18 months is a good buffer period. That's a far cry from people still blaming bush while obama ran for his 2nd term. As long as you're willing to hold the current president accountable for the same shit that pissed you off about his predecessor (I realize cc isn't doing this). The first year for a new president is under the previous admins budget. As for this current topic (healthcare) it seems both sides see a need for a change and the current system is in place from our previous president. I'm not sure how you can't bring his name up.

I just think it's absurd how people like ptown can come in all righteous two days after the election and proclaim that nobody has a right to bring up Obama anymore, because they complained about people bringing up Bush during his presidency. It's even funnier how shocked they act when obama is being blamed. Wtf did you expect after doing it for 8 years? The other side was just going to play fair?

If they do that, I hope every single one of them gets voted out of office.

Ok i don't disagree. Excluding things Obama is responsible for, it makes no sense to blame Obama for Trump not actually having his wonderful healthcare plan and not being able to do anything about healthcare with a republican house and Senate. That is all on Trump and the republicans.

Too bad he drank the kool-aid and took the money; always difficult weaning people off of public assistance.

Just repeal the damn thing.

Unreal Kasich added single young people to the eligibility for Medicaid.

Vice President Mike Pence casts the decisive vote as the Senate votes to proceed to debate on a bill to overhaul ObamaCare.

Per John Boehner's preview...Looks like we will end up getting rid of the OCare taxes for the most part and laundering the individual mandate through the insurance companies but keep medicaid as is along with pre-existing conditions. So, in the end looking good for repairing obamacare rather than repealing and replacing which is a good outcome.

The straight repeal and replace in 2 years vote is going on right now and it is going down in flames.
Already 5 R no's.
Looking more and more like they may do some sort of skinny repeal, then kick it to the House.

Good little summary by Nate Silver:
"Between the two major votes on alternatives to Obamacare — last night’s on BCRA and today’s on repeal and delay — we have the following breakdown of GOP votes:

  • 3 Republicans who voted against both BCRA and repeal (Collins, Heller, Murkowski)
  • 4 Republicans who voted for BCRA but against repeal (Alexander, Capito, McCain, Portman)
  • 6 Republicans who voted for repeal but against BCRA (Corker, Cotton, Graham, Lee, Moran, Paul)
  • And 39 Republicans who voted for both BCRA and repeal (everyone else)
It’s quite a mess. And yet, McConnell would still seem to stand a chance of getting “skinny repeal” passed, even though nobody’s quite sure what bill would emerge once it came back from conference with the House."

I, for one, think it's a total disgrace that republicans had 7 years to work together to come up with a workable plan that doesn't force anybody to do anything at the threat of a fine while at the same time lowering costs - this would include fixing the problems with big insurance and big pharma - and they've got nothing.
They are in the same sewer as the democrats.

Have to love the Frank Luntzification of this. "Skinny Repeal" is not repeal....it just gets rid of the obamacare taxes and thatvisbgreat!

Don't quite understand why everyone thinks that this is a mess in DC cause parties are just rank and file. Our Congress is actually working the way it should be working. Its not supposed to be the "pass it to see what is in it" type procedure.

Probably because you have assholes who are not voting for the same bill that they voted for 2 years ago....

You can start there.
