"I don't understand your point. Before the Japanese put up the nets throwing the stink bombs on the deck was extremely effective."

Effective at what? It is a whaling vessel, it ALREADY STINKS! How is stinking it barely incrementally more effective?

I hate to be the guy to tell you there is no Santa Claus, but the point of the show is mainly how silly these people are, especially the Captain who is a lunatic. He got kicked out of the Sierra Club for being an idiot, and one of the appeals of the show is how someone so clearly insane can get people to follow him in some very dangerous activities. The guy freaking faked getting shot-poorly. It is watching a train wreck.

Also, it looks like Bob Barker just donated 5 million so Sea Shepherd could buy another ship to use on the campaigns. If there are 2 or 3 ships they will stop at least 85 percent of the whaling.

The point of the show is to spread the Sea Shepherd's message which is clealy working.

I don't care how their tactics appear. Facts are they are causing the Japanese to miss their quotas by about 60 percent. That is with one ship. That isn't ineffective by any standard.

I don't really care about Watson. He actually seems like a pretty big douche. But I agree with what they are doing.

And he didn't fake getting shot. There actually was a piece of metal in his jacket from a flashbag.

Good God eers, give me 2 hours and a video camera and I can probably fake getting shot better than Watson did and post it on youtube. Do you actually think he got shot? Come on man!

Like I've said, I don't care if he was injured or wasn't. I only care about what they are doing. And what they are doing has been effective up to this point.

I will say it is semi effective yes. They do stop them from meeting their quotas but they are still killing alot. I don't think they can fully stop them but I do think the tactics they use are a bit stupid. Now you are right, there is only so much they can do with in law under the Dutch flag. I just want to see some carnage between the two sides cause I am a sick MF'er!

By the way this is something you may want to look at.....

"Japan has advised the Australian Embassy in Tokyo that a crew member on board the Japanese whaling vessel fired warning shots."

www.foreignminister.gov.au/releases/2008/fa-s048_08.html

So while he was likely not shot, there were shots fired.

Watson has shown he isn't afraid to risk his life.
He has had charges filed againsr him in Norway, Canada, Costa Rica, and Japan. He has sunk 5 ships who were illegally hunting animals. So he doesn't mind do what is needed.

I think he is just trying to work this one through the media because the only way to stop it is by strengthening international law.

"I think he is just trying to work this one through the media because the only way to stop it is by strengthening international law. "

Go to southparkstudios.com and see the whale wars episode, he's being lampooned by the media and popular culture. And to my initial point on this thread there are some folks that are strangely sympathetic, yet he is exploiting them. Some of their actions are very, very dangerous and it is obvious that Watson doesn't respect the sea, doesn't respect his followers and generally speaking, is a loon. He's been very lucky he hasn't killed anyone, aside from his fake gunshot.

You are really reaching by claiming media and popular culture are against him because South Park made fun of him. Who doesn't South Park make fun of?

Yes their actions are dangerous. So you claim their actions are ineffective on one hand but then complain about them being too dangerous in attempts to be effective? Seems like regardless of what is said you will be on the opposite side.

I'd rather the whales get killed than give this headline grubbing douche any more attention.

The ends never justify the means when it comes to being a douche.

You didn't get the memo, it was a cow and chicken that dumped the bomb.

Fuck you cow! Fuck you chicken!

Kidding aside, that was probably the best South Park episode in the last few years.
