Free market doesn't always work well with a public good with no profit incentive.

NPR and PBS are vital to the intellectual health of the nation but very difficult to make money encouraging that.

Dinosaurs in a social media-driven world. Those organizations have less justification for existing than the Post Office...and I actually like some of the stuff on NPR and PBS, but they aren't remotely influential like you appear to be suggesting.

Maybe if you lived in the 1950s. You have many resources like YouTube, podcasts, Netflix, stations dedicated to education, etc. All can be done for free (except the TV stations obviously) and then when the public seeks them they receive funding from private entities. Crazy how that works. Tell me more about how Khan Academy needed the government to fund him.

Sometimes people hit it big and as they age they turn into liberals out of some sort of guilt complex. They made theirs, and in trying to protect it, they support big government which in turn hurts the ability of others to 'make theirs'. Strange phenomenon.

Agree. Tax cuts aren't necessary. Freeze spending across the board, get rid of most regulations, and start counting the tax revenue.

I disagree with this wholeheartedly. It usually doesn't work, and you don't have to look much further than the banking industry to realize that.

We've certainly seen how regulation and general anti-growth agenda can take the steam out of a recovery.

It could be as simple as businesses suddenly aren't looking at 8 more years of Obama with Hillary. Legit reason to be optimistic, not least among which is cut in corporate rates.

Yeah who needs clean air or clean water? Who needs to make sure companies are paying their taxes? Who cares about the safety of products?

Obama had STUNNING economic growth over the last 8 years WITH a strong push to protect the environment and the health of US citizens. Trump? All the cons, none of the benefits.

obama had the worst post-recession growth in US history; basically we had no growth.

But that is to be expected when the prez is a professional agitator trying run a capitalist economy with marxist policies.

Hmmmm.....near as I can tell, that has not been confirmed and is "news" being pushed by, unsurprisingly, left-leaning sites. All I found on a quick [if incomplete] google search was Fox saying it was unconfirmed, and nothing from WaPo.

I'm more interested in knowing how his Twitter account has been secured (though how would we ever know if it was hacked, because Trump is capable of tweeting, literally, ANYTHING).
