Drop foot disappeared last week but I was told to still go through with surgery.

I had the drop foot for 4-5 weeks. I started to work it harder on the eliptical. The harder I worked it the better it started to feel quickly. I had back issues for years and years it would flare up..different things for seemingly no reason but that incident was by far the worst and only time the drop foot happened. I started to work my hamstrings and abs more to recover and luckily, knock on wood, it has been years since I have had any issues.

Goodluck with it.

It's a good sign that the drop foot resided. the inflammation around the nerve is decreasing therefore the motor connection is restored. this is a good prognosis for post op recovery. you will need to strengthen your back post op and use good body mechanics to keep stress off L4-5 once L3-4 is fixed.

Did you do something specific where you pinpointed when this happened?

For me, I drove 12 hours with little stops, and the next day sat for nearly 12 hours on a plane/at the airport. It was just very uncomfortable but not bad for a few days. Then I put the heating pad on it and, well, the rest was history. Dr said putting heat on it was the worst thing for it and likely inflamed it.

Its not the back pain but the pinched nerves that are sidelining me. My back isn't terrible, I just cannot push off or rotate it much

Lamenectomy on l3-s1 when I was 24. Also shattered l5 three years post surgery. Deal with pain every day. No meds.
