Just wondering if anyone on here has done this before and what it was like for you? I did this in late September pinching both of my sciatic nerves which has caused a ton of pain and swelling in my legs and feet.

Because of this I've been on work disability as they won't let me come back to work this banged up as it is a factory setting and they don't want it to turn into workers comp. Has anyone else been hurt for this long by their disc? Lol it is not fun

Avoid surgery at all costs. My best friend got his first back surgery at 16 and has since had two more in the following 16 years. He has good month and bad days but never fully been able to do everything he would like. Now he having pain in his hands when he grips onto something for too long and they think it's connected to his back pain and want to go back in again.

I think ink his last surgery kept him from working for 3-4 months.

What's crazy is I was at a mud hens game at it took them half the time to get a herniated disc than a MLB team.

What treatment have you tried? Physcial therapy? Shots? Chiropractor re-alignment? TENS machine? I would try all of these before surgery, as these have all helped me to some extent, but if your pain lasts longer than a month, you probably do need surgery.

I have had this problem my entire adult life and have had 2 surgeries. First one in 1994 and then second one in 2014.

Everyone is different, but for me after both surgeries, I felt immediate relief and was back to work and feeling great in a colple weeks. Both of my discectomy surgeries were on the L4/L5 disks which are some of the most common disks that cause sciatic nerve pain.

I recommend you going to see Dr. Richard Brower at Crystal Clinic in Akron, OH. He did my first surgery and then recommended a surgeon in Charlotte, NC for my second surgery as I now live in NC.

Pinched a nerve in my back in like '08...worst injury of my life. Back injuries are the fucking worst. Dr told me that I likely wouldnt ever run my 5K races again. It. SUcked. Seemed like the more I babied it though, the longer it lasted so I started to be a bit more aggressive and luckily.......after 4-5 months i started to feel somewhat normal.

I find it unfathomable that you even repped him at all let alone too often that you must spread it around.

I rarely rep anyone because it's a pain on my phone to go to web view, log in etc. I prefer a like button.

It was funny as hell. Still laugh when I read it.

Yeah it's the L4 disc I guess. They're going to do a set of two injections spread two weeks apart to clear it up. The disc has mostly healed, it's just the sciatic nerves that still suck.

I do agree though, it's ridiculous how much constant pain this is. I'd of rather broken a bone lol

I never got that far into my diagnosis..just that it was a pinched nerve etc but yeah, I have had broken bones, torn ligaments.......a bad back was by far the worst and most hindering injury.

I go in the 7th to have L3/L4 discectomy and laminectomy. Dr. Wake didn't think injections would work so being early 30s him and two other doctors recommended surgery. My left legs been numb for 8 weeks and until last week had drop foot in that leg.

I'm a physical therapist and if your leg has been constantly numb for 8 weeks and now you have foot drop you need the surgery. Hopefully you will wake noticing immediate relief.

Look online for Mckenzie extension based exercises. It's a gradual progressionof extension exercise that should help remove the pain from your legs towards your back. if you go to physical therapy ask for a therapist trained in Mckenzie . I've been a PT for 16 years. An inversion table may help.
