Predictable, but awesome.

I loved the giant scaring the shit out of the Watch.

Also, the Mountain's kill....splat.

Was anyone else pissed when Rickon's direwolf was shown killed? Also, it looks like Rickon hit puberty too.

Didn't care - how is there more outrage over this than Ramsey having his hounds kill a mother while holding her baby? Big deal, a wolf is dead.

This season has been a lot better since it's not going at the slug pace of the books anymore.

Because the fat man doesn't have any new material for them. The books dragged on, and the shows followed them. Now that they don't have new material, they can advance quicker without pissing off an audience who has read it in advance, b/c the material doesn't exist... at least to the marketplace.

A great question, and in my opinion, too soon for the writers to have him do what he did. They could have waited until he got wind of Sansa/Rickon, etc., which would give him clear reason to take off and head for Winterfell. But right now? Where TF is he even going, and why?

I think it was telling when the Red Lady asked Jon what he saw after he died, and he said, "nothing." He knows nothing happens after this life, so why not just start getting after it. He doesn't care about any of the old rules now.

That is a really great question. I think it's premature, in my opinion, for him to walk away from the Knight's Watch in the way that they chose to have him do so. In all reality, it would have been a better story line if he were still a member of the Knight's Watch when he discovered what was happening with his siblings, Sansa and Rickon. Had they done that, it would have given Jon Snow a real purpose to leave the wall and head for Winterfell and face Ramsey. Where the fudge is he going right now without knowing any of that? And why is he leaving right now without knowing any of that?

I think they'll have him go to Winterfell and face off against Ramsey. Maybe not this season but soon.
