That would lead me to believe it was someone who knew the dogs well enough to walk by. Although from the video I saw on the news it looked like they may have been chained up, but the dad (great grandpa?) made it sound like the dogs would have been a deterrent.

Just read there may be an illegal cockfighting bit going on with it too. Several roosters were found individually caged up, which is common in cockfighting rings.

With all the victims but one being shot repeatedly (and as many as 9 times), that doesn't exactly seem like "execution style" to me. A professional or sophisticated hit would be more simplistic, in my opinion, but maybe overkill is supposed to add to the message that was being sent. More brutality, bigger warning.

However, I think I read somewhere that there were people close by who didn't hear any gunshots, so maybe that means a silencer was used. Then there's supposedly no forced entry and pitbulls around that didn't really do much of anything, which seems to indicate that it was someone who had close connections to the family. The small kids were allowed to live, which does seem uncharacteristic of a major cartel. At first, I just assumed that since the children were so small, they were no threat to identify anyone so they were spared.

All this information seems to conflict, at least from my perspective. Really hard to get a read on what truly happened.

They definitely used a silencer. When multiple people are killed in a dead, especially with most shot so many times, that's the only thing that can make any sense. Otherwise others would have gotten out of bed to see what was going on.

I didn't think by now they wouldn't have a major lead (maybe they do). I'm starting to lead to someone in the family or someone very very close to the family. Hopefully the killer(s) made some mistakes.
