...You're going to pay around 150.00 or slightly less per night anywhere in midtown.

What's your budget? Traveling with kids?

Just a heads up, it won't be cheap.
The Yotel is pretty cheap if you don't mind sleeping on a modernized futon.

We had some of our sales reps stay there 2 summers ago when they were in town for meetings, they were pissed

The roof bar is nice though, but it's a pretty desolate part of town.

No. Look for the most flamboyant guy at Times Square and ask for the best place to have a meal, the locals selling their broadway shows are more than willing to guide you to a place that's not a "chain" and has great food.

Coincidentally my Yotel experience happened when I was in town for the specialty food show at Javits.

Fancy Food Show? I'm very familiar, it's fucking chaos when that goes on. I dread that week.

Let's see them. Midtown, upper west side, Chelsea, flat iron, and Hell's Kitchen.

Any cuisine?

I'll just list some places I've either been to or have on my radar.

UWS
I've been a here a lot, heavy comfort food. Quality beer selection also

Midtown
Momofuku Ma Peche
David Chang spot. Cool for a group, sharing plates

Midtown West / HK
Better Being - awesome lunch spot, hidden gem. Always changing menu

Ramen? I'm a huge fan of Asian food, specifically ramen. This is one of my fav spots, they have two locations. Best pork buns I've ever had.

Root & Bone - East Village
Southern food. I've never been, but it's at the top of my list. Gets packed, always a wait.

Im a fan of most cuisine, but also love Asian food. I have been on an Asian kick lately. These are all awesome, thanks. Do you know of any Korean BBQ spots where you grill the meat yourself at the table?

I've actually never been to a proper Korean BBQ place. There's a ton of them here though. Here's one I just know of from people at work. It's in Koreatown (Midtown)

Looks solid

I recently tried "shabu shabu" for the first time. Similar to Korean BBQ but Japanese and you cook everything in a massive hotpot at the table. It was fun, kinda weird. I had beef tongue.
