Don’t make investments. You can put it in the bank and live comfortably. Forever. You will sleep a lot better knowing you won’t lose money.
Lol that is awful advice

He was basically saying you shouldn't invest bc you don't know WTF you're doing. You don't become a great investor overnight bc you got money. I can see that.

Depends. If you invest in low risk funds, then its worth it. The reality is most people will think they are some genius and invest in a bunch of high risk sexy ventures and end up blowing all their money.

With $500M you can essentially have the best wealth management team in the world manage your money.

Obviously you don't want the hillbilly in Tennessee who wins to start day trading with $500M. But it's stupid to tell that person not to invest that money.

Being incredibly intelligent is like hitting the lottery? He hasn't lucked into wealth.

It was sold in Chino Hills. Doesn't necessarily mean the winner is rich.

I was in two separate office pools, and I bought three personal tickets. Of the office pools, I believe there were over 50 tickets bought. Of all the tickets that were purchased... $12 were won. 12 freaking dollars. That's 12$ for all you idiots.

Obligatory "you could buy this site!!!!"

Cuban is an intelligent guy but you can't deny he made his wealth in a very unstable time where he could have easily gone south to zero just as easily as north to billions. If you ask Cuban, he will say he made smart choices and knew how to time to market; if you ask reality, you know luck was a big part of it.

Apparently the winner in Florida was a hedge fund millionaire who spent over 30K in tickets.

I don't believe this for a second. Sleeper told us rich investors like him don't play the lottery.

not even close.

The median income for a household in the city is about 90k.

the average in california is about $70k, so it's a slightly-above average community in california.
