Makes no sense for the Browns to give up on Gordon. Someone like the Patriots would pick him up and he'd be an all pro WR next season.

But he needs to not be a dumb fuck and stay clean.

He hasn't really played (consistently) in 2 years so it will be interesting to see just how good he is coming back. He is only 24, I believe, so he does have some time on his side to bounce back.

FWIW: Listened to an ESPN NFL podcast today and they said that Gordon is in great shape.

You've obviously seen the Wizard of Oz, correct?

I actually dubbed Peralta "Moonpie" because a) he was fat, implying he ate a lot of sweets and b) his cheeks actually looked like the Moonpie cookie.

They made the point that if Manziel screws up he isn't going to be cold and hungry on the streets as his family has money.....Gordon has a lot more riding on him.

Last picture I saw of him, you could do your laundry on his abs. Ripped. To. Shreds.

In "former Browns" news, I see where the "Soulja", Kellen Winslow Jr, is going to attempt a comeback. Must be running low on the Wal-Mart parking lot Vaseline fund.

You bring back Gordon EZ. There is a reason why the Browns didn't cut him to begin with. Btw, is there any doubt that goodell will be a petty bitch and wait the full 60 days to make a decision on Gordon's reinstatement?

gordon has brought nothing but bad publicity to the team. it's time to start over fresh.

new coach with new direction... things are looking up.

this will be a playoff contender next year if they draft goff or cardale

The Browns aren't going to the playoffs next year, regardless of anything. Schedule is fucking rough. They'll won 5 games max

I'll bite.

One of Hue's stronger attributes, as known around the league is he's strong on character and if he can't get Gordon set straight....others won't likely give him a chance either if he fails with Hue.

Still, this team isn't good. Would love to see them shock the world but not expecting it. For me, I'd be pleased/enthusiastic if they got a legit QB with a few young, exciting players that gave the fan base hope going forward. Even if that meant 3-13 (or worse) again. As long as it looks like they are getting it, I'm fine diving on that grenade for another season.

I think we will suck. I'm just not buying that the schedule is that bad. We only play 6 games against playoff teams from this season, and we get to play the worst NFC division.

This is the NFL. Looking at one year's schedule to predict the next year's schedule is stupid. Before this year, you would've thought playing the NFC East was tough, while the NFC South would've sucked. Carolina goes 15-1, Atlanta, New Orleans and Tampa win 8, 7 and 6 games respectively when last year all of them struggled to break .500. For AFC North teams next year...

Dallas...given their injuries, it's hard to imagine they are worse
Philadelphia...they were pretty bad, hard to imagine they are worse
New York...new coach, could be up or down
Washington...probably can expect much of the same
New England...they are New England
New York...expect them to only get better under Bowles
Miami...like Dallas and Philly, can't get much worse
Buffalo...similar to New York Giants, could go either way

I actually think the AFC North rotation could be tough next year. I'd much rather be playing the NFC North next year...

I wasn't really even looking at the schedule. I was just looking (internally) how bad the Browns are. I'd expect to see quite a few more younger faces on this roster. Can young guys gel & win immediately? Sure but I'm not banking on it.

I'd be happy to just seem them improve in the 2nd half of the season and steal some wins from better teams. That's always a sign a team is headed in the right direction.

They can go 0-16 next year as long as we know we have our QB of the future.

Tennessee had the worst record in the league this season, but they're pumped they know Mariotta will be a stud. Now they can build around that. That's what I want.

Now if we go 8-8 with a good QB, that's just sugar on top.

This is my mindset. I'm sure there's tons of optimism in Tennessee, Oakland & Tampa regarding their franchises going forward from a fans perspective.

Agreed. As long as they invest in the future (like the raiders and Carr). No reason to play penis flickers and have mccown start.

Did people think the NFC east was going to be tough? Carolina being great doesn't make the south a strong division. You make it sound like the Falcons/Saints/Bucs were respectable but label Eagles pretty bad. They all look the same to me but "respectable" sounds better than "pretty bad" The Eagles were pretty bad but also defeated the Patriots and Jets.

Tough to predict the 4th place teams as they all face each other and one of them will thrive in those games and win 6-8 games the next year and if they are doing things right they'll win 8-9 the next year playing 3rd place teams and then sniff the playoffs the following year playing a 2nd or 3rd place schedule.

My impression of McCown is that he is a professional, someone to have on the roster as a backup and mentor. Now when you have an immature young quarterback who can't stay out of trouble, you get neither the mentorship or the role as a backup. I'm fine with a 2-4 game start from he veteran QB if the younger apprentice is not ready to grasp the speed and complexity of the NFL, but the rookie better be working his way into the starting lineup in the first third of the year.
