High School Cafeteria Food?

All Athletes got free lunches but we had to eat at the “coaches table”
Friday lunch was all carbs… for players
Best was: Swiss Steak and gravy on mash potatoes
Worst was: You guest it Spaghetti hated it like the cooks tried to doctor up tomatoes soup.

I never ate the high school cafeteria food. It was too expensive and made for poor people who ironically got subsidies for free or 50 cent lunches.

I would pack a sandwich with a piece of fruit and/or carrots.

I skipped out on my high school's lunch and ate at Wendy's or McDonald's a lot. Sometimes we ordered pizzas and ate them in the band room.

But on those limited times I did eat school lunch, I had pizza and fries. The worst was probably Salisbury steak. Hated it. Still hate it.

I never ate cafeteria, as a local pizza shop would take orders and deliver to the school once a week. The rest of the time, I packed.

I'd usually go to the snack line and buy a couple pieces of fruit and a milk. Their actual food was low-quality shit that was probably a step below what you'd buy at the po' people grocery store.

Back in the days of the one room school house, we had to pack.... Usually home grown produce and some sort of road kill hash. Then off for a 5 mile walk, up hill both ways.
