Anyone on here ever been to Hocking Hills? If so, what are the spots to see? What are the things to do?

It's only about an hour from Columbus, if I were you I'd make the trip from Hocking Hills to the horseshoe on Sat. Take in an OSU game! Playing Hawaii, should be a good game.

I would probably drive to Columbus to the airport and just fly to another city.

Pretty much everything at Hocking Hills is worth seeing, if you haven't been there before.

If you only have a limited time, uh, I guess Cedar Falls and Old Man's Cave were my group's main destinations in college. Ash Cave is really cool in the winter, when stuff freezes, also.

This. I hear Seattle is great this time of year. Could see the Space Needle.

I was just at old man's cave and rock house on Monday. It was a warm day for hiking but we had a good time.

Good thing temperatures are suppose to drop this weekend to make it feel more like Fall. I really like Hocking Hills.

I second GoChiefs suggestion of The Millstone BBQ. Definitely good eats there and decent prices. Comp. corn bread melts in your mouth! take the first right off 664 towards the dam, wind up the hill and take a right at the corner where the Mexican restaurant is (I think the name of the road is "Greystone" or "Grey-something". Millstone BBQ is down the road on the right. Pretty sure they have local brews on tap too.

Might want to take a pass on a canoe trip right now… Hocking river is running very shallow. Stick to the day hikes per Old Man's cave, Conkles Hollow etc.

Hocking Hills visitor center is right off Rt 33 on 664 at Logan exit. Great place to start and get info and only 11 miles from Old Man's cave on 664.

A new diamond in the rough just opened this Spring… Hocking Hills Winery. First light on 664 east off Rt 33 (across from McDonalds… follow road about a mile to the winery on the right.) For white try the house Riesling and for red the Malbec is outstanding.

Thanks for the comments.

I'm about 45 minutes from the campsite. Hopefully all goes well. I'm looking to fish at one of the reservoirs. If all goes well, I'll be eating like a king! It most likely won't so I'll have a few food items set back. I do plan on hiking a few trails.

GoChiefs: That is an excellent list. I will definitely look into those options.

Spock: If I can avoid ANY situation like that, I'll be happy! ;)

You have to go a little further south to get in a situation that Spock was referring to.

Or the locker room of his gym class after school. Where the motto is "Another day, another real purty mouth squealin' like a pig!".
