If not racist, at least a little prejudiced from, most of the time, having a sheltered existence away from other races/nationalities/etc. so that a lot of their "knowledge" of other peoples comes from stereotypes. The flag is a symbol of treason as well as a symbol of racism. Not to mention they lost. If that is a heritage you want to celebrate, good for you.
