Gosh a ruddies aren't you being devious in your headline. It is not Jefferson but Jefferson Davis, and the Jackson is not Andrew, but Thomas "Stonewall." Lee, Davis and Jackson were all traitors fighting for the CSA in defense of the institution of slavery.

Just offer the job to NAACP members as a way to them off of welfare. The job will never get done.

Ha read this the other day. The NAACP is a joke, and any organization that treats them as viable is retarded. Oh hey take down the flag and statues, but don't worry about our own shitty murder rates and large number of abortions. COPS AND FLAGS!!!

Gosh a ruddlies, you're still holding a grudge against the NAACP for their efforts helping to end de jure segregation. You miss those "whites only" signs. And they fought so hard against lynching, you just can not string up a black man like back in the good old days.

Lol such anger. Most young blacks find the NAACP irrelevant.

Like unions, I'm sure they had their place at some point. But since I've been alive they have done nothing to "advance" anything besides complain about stupid shit. Same old song and dance, complain loud enough and some people will think you are doing something.

1. We can see the effect of the decline of Unions. National and state legislation undermined the union. Now we can see the decline in workers' incomes and deteriorating working conditions.
2. NAACP is taking a leading role in removing those Confederate symbols of slavery and treason.

Do you think the Crazy Horse monument in South Dakota should be removed since he was an enemy of the United States?

gosh a ruddies to the extent of my understanding.
was he a traitor or did he support a government founded to protect slavery-no.
While he was an American, he was not an United States citizen, that was denied to Indians at that time.. While Lee, Jackson and Davis were. Gosh they had all gone even further by swearing to defend the United States- all as army officers and Davis as US Senator and Secretary of War.

The NAACP is trying to remain relevant. What they need to do is hold marches and vigils in the neighborhoods that they have abandoned that are crime filled. Oh wait they're too scared to. Instead lets keep focusing on racism whether it's there or not.

^^^I think there is a real danger in purposefully trying to shift blame for your plight to others( not confined to race either)....it's ultimately self defeating, and prevents you from taking personal responsibility to improve your condition. Sadly, there are sycophants that make careers and a whole lot of money doing just that. I would be weary of anyone who does that....and instead look for those examples of personal empowerment for guidance and inspiration.

The National Association For the Advancement of Colored People could care less about the crime in the black communities then I guess. There are more cases of blacks murdering blacks that they aren't addressing. Instead they are all over the incident of racism in Charleston. Stone Mountain is where the KKK was reborn you say? I'm more worried about driving through Chicago and Baltimore than I am Stone Mountain.

Because the efforts of the NAACP made lynching and de jure segregation fade. But as can be seen in Charleston not disappear.

Shift it all you want and wallow in self pity. Slavery ended 150 years ago. Legislation that destroyed lingering institutionalization has been in place over 50 years. Affirmative action programs are available to help all that are underprivleged but are willing to help themselves.

Their focus needs to shift to things that are affecting the community they so called represent. To keep harping on the small problem while the much larger one spirals out of control is cowardly.

de facto segregation lingers. And affirmative action was being dismantled right after it started, beginning with Bakke.

I agree that most Indians didn't have slaves, but neither did most white people. You act like every white person owned a slave, when it was just a small amount in reality. If areas want to recognize their local history, I don't have a problem with it. South Dakota can have a monument to Crazy Horse. Georgia can have a monument to confederate leaders. Many of the old forts along the Great Lakes have the flag of England since they once controlled those forts. The Texas State House has a monument to the Six Flags that have flown over Texas (We have defeated 5 or the 6 in Wars). There are several other examples of history being shown.
